Role Overview The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance and accounts function, ensuring robust financial governance, regulatory compliance, and efficient treasury back-office operations. The role requires strong expertise in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and stakeholder management within a banking, with exposure to international banking practices.

Key Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory

1213 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking environment

Strong expertise in Finance, Accounts, and Treasury Back Office operations

Positive understanding of international banking practices, cross-border transactions, and global reporting standards

In-depth knowledge of Indian regulatory framework including RBI, GST, and Income Tax

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation •

•

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual)

Compliance with applicable accounting standards including GAAP and Ind AS (knowledge of IFRS is an added advantage)

•

Manage financial consolidation and reporting to Head Office (including overseas reporting, if applicable)

2. Direct & Indirect Taxation Compliance •

•

End-to-end ownership of direct and indirect taxation matters

Income tax computation, advance tax planning, and filings

Handling TDS/TCS compliance, assessments, appeals, and litigation

3. Regulatory & Statutory Reporting •

•

•

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including RBI, MCA, DICGC, Income Tax, and GST

Handle reporting requirements for cross-border transactions and international operations (if applicable)

Timely and accurate submission of statutory returns and reports

- Budgeting, Accounts Payable & Payroll

Lead annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and variance analysis

Oversee vendor payments and accounts payable reconciliation

Supervise payroll processing and related accounting

- Treasury Back Office Operations

Oversee treasury back-office activities including deal confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and accounting

Ensure accuracy and control in treasury transactions, including foreign currency transactions

- Treasury Portfolio Valuation

Review and validate valuation of treasury portfolio

Ensure proper accounting for investments, derivatives, MTM, impairment, and fair value

- Audit & Internal Controls

Manage statutory audit, internal audit, HO audit, RBI inspections, and tax audits

Coordinate with global/internal auditors (if applicable)

Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions

Strengthen internal control framework

Supervise day-to-day accounting operations ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Drive process improvements, automation, and financial discipline
