We are a well-established Mumbai-based non-profit that enables young people from underserved communities to make informed career choices and access sustainable livelihoods. For over a decade, we have worked across education, skilling, gender, career development and employment. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are looking for a strategic financial leader to join our Senior Leadership Team.

Role & responsibilities:

The Director Finance is the Strategic CFO of the organisation. The role reports to the Founder-Director and Board and holds full fiduciary responsibility.

- Strategic Finance & Treasury: Partner with the Founder-Director and Board on long-term capital allocation, multi-year financial models and scalability forecasts. Oversee treasury, liquidity, cash flow optimisation and capital preservation.
- Financial Infrastructure: Implement modern budgeting, FP&A;, ERP and control tools across all programme verticals.
- Board Governance: Serve as the primary financial interface to the Board and the Audit/Finance Committees. Present quarterly financials, variance analyses and risk overviews.
- Secretarial & Statutory Compliance: Oversee legal and secretarial compliance for Trust, Society and Section 8 structures, including registrations, annual filings and legal documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with FCRA, Income Tax (12A/80G), CSR rules under the Companies Act, GST, PF/ESIC, labour laws and Charity Commissioner requirements.
- Risk & Audit: Build and maintain an Enterprise Risk Management framework. Strengthen internal controls and lead statutory audits,



internal audits and donor-specific financial reviews.
- Donor Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely donor financial reporting and fund utilisation compliance.
- Innovative Financing: Explore blended finance models such as Social Impact Bonds, outcome-based funding and pooled CSR structures.
- Stakeholder Relations: Be the financial face of the organisation to institutional donors, HNIs and corporate CSR boards.
- Team & MIS: Lead and build the finance, accounts and compliance team. Support programme heads on budgeting and cost efficiency, and design MIS reports for senior leadership.

Preferred candidate profile:

- CA, CPA, MBA (Finance) or an equivalent advanced qualification in financial management
- 12–15+ years of post-qualification experience in financial management
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CFO, Head of Finance or equivalent) with direct Board interaction
- Strong knowledge of Indian non-profit regulations, including FCRA, 12A/80G and CSR governance (NGO / Section 8 / Trust experience highly preferred)
- Proven track record of leading ERP, MIS and automated budgeting implementations
- Confident communicating with Board members, legal counsel and auditors
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and uncompromising integrity
