Vishram Management Group is seeking a trustworthy, analytical, and results-driven Finance Controller / Chartered Accountant with strong financial reporting and QuickBooks experience.
This is a leadership-focused finance position. The selected candidate will work directly with the CFO, take charge of the finance team's daily operations, oversee financial reporting and compliance, analyze business performance, and support growth initiatives.
Overall Responsibility
The position will have end-to-end responsibility for the financial management, accounting, reporting, controls, taxation coordination, compliance, and financial analysis of Vishram Management Group (VMG), VIS Global, VIS India, VIS LATAM, and other current or future group entities.
The role is expected to provide management with accurate financial information, identify financial risks and opportunities, establish controls, and ensure that accounting and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time.
What you'll own
Daily Financial Oversight: Review AP, AR, bank transactions, credit cards, cash balances, collections, vendor payments, outstanding liabilities, and overall cash flow across all entities.
Accounting & Bookkeeping Control: Ensure QuickBooks and other accounting systems are accurate, reconciled, properly categorized, and maintained with appropriate supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, AR/AP aging, and management dashboards.
Entity & Location-Level P&L;: Maintain separate profitability reporting for each company, business unit, store, restaurant, office, country, and major program/project.
COGS & Margin Analysis: Monitor COGS, gross profit, operating margins, payroll ratios, purchasing costs, inventory impact, and other key financial performance indicators.
Cost Control & Leakage: Proactively identify unnecessary expenses, duplicate payments, excessive vendor costs, poor purchasing practices, interest expenses, cash leakage, and other opportunities to reduce costs.
Cash & Treasury Management: Monitor liquidity and working capital and recommend appropriate use of available cash, including debt reduction, interest-bearing accounts, financing costs, and return on idle funds.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts, cash-flow projections, and scenario models for each entity and consolidated group operations.
Expansion & Investment Analysis: Evaluate proposed stores, offices, acquisitions, programs, capital expenditures, and other investments using ROI, break-even, payback period, cash-flow, sensitivity, and profitability analysis.
Profit Improvement: Identify businesses, departments, locations, programs, or expense categories that are underperforming or leaving money on the table and provide financially supported recommendations for corrective action and revenue/profit improvement.
Store & Business Performance: Monitor store-level and business-unit profitability and provide red-flag reporting when labor, COGS, expenses, margins, sales, cash flow, or other KPIs fall outside approved targets.
Management KPI Reporting: Work with Operations and Store Management to establish financial KPIs and measure actual performance against budgets and targets.
Internal Controls: Develop and enforce financial SOPs, approval matrices, expense controls, purchasing controls, cash-handling controls, segregation of duties, documentation requirements, and fraud-prevention procedures.
Accounting Team Management: Manage and review the work of accounting/bookkeeping staff across the organization and establish deadlines, responsibilities, review procedures, and accountability.
India Statutory Accounting & Taxation: Take responsibility for accounting and applicable Indian statutory/tax compliance for VIS India, including GST, TDS, income-tax requirements, payroll-related financial compliance, statutory books, reconciliations, and required financial statements and filings.
India CA Responsibilities: Coordinate and/or complete applicable ROC/MCA requirements, tax returns, audit preparation, statutory audit support, tax assessments/notices, certificates, reconciliations, and other responsibilities normally handled by the company's CA or finance function.
U.S. Tax & Compliance Coordination: Maintain accurate books and supporting schedules for VMG/VIS U.S. entities and coordinate with U.S. CPAs/payroll providers for federal and state income tax returns, payroll taxes, sales/use taxes, 1099/W-2 reporting and other applicable filings. The employee should verify filings and deadlines rather than assuming the outside CPA has completed them.
LATAM Finance Oversight: Maintain financial visibility over VIS LATAM operations, including expenses, payroll, vendor payments, collections, budgets, cash flow, profitability, intercompany transactions, and country-level financial reporting.
LATAM Compliance Coordination: Coordinate with qualified local accountants/legal professionals for country-specific tax, payroll, statutory and regulatory filings. The Group Finance Controller remains responsible for tracking deadlines, obtaining evidence of filing/payment, and reporting compliance status to management.
Intercompany Accounting: Properly account for transactions and fund transfers among VMG, VIS Global, VIS India, VIS LATAM, and related entities, including intercompany receivables/payables and reconciliations.
International Financial Controls: Maintain documentation supporting cross-border payments, management charges, reimbursements, service arrangements, and other intercompany transactions and coordinate appropriate qualified advice regarding transfer pricing and tax treatment where required.
Payroll Financial Review: Review payroll costs, payroll reconciliations, commissions, bonuses, reimbursements, deductions, employer costs, and payroll liabilities across the organization.
Accounts Receivable & Collections: Monitor receivables and aging, establish collection controls, identify overdue accounts, and coordinate collection actions with responsible departments.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management: Control payment schedules, verify invoices and approvals, prevent duplicate/incorrect payments, and analyze vendor pricing and payment terms.
Bank & Balance-Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure bank accounts, credit cards, loans, payroll liabilities, sales-tax liabilities, accounts receivable/payable, inventory accounts and other significant balance-sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
Debt & Financing Analysis: Track loans, interest rates, repayment schedules and financing costs and evaluate refinancing or restructuring opportunities where financially beneficial.
Audit & Documentation Readiness: Maintain organized supporting documentation and schedules so each entity remains ready for statutory audits, tax audits, CPA reviews, lender requests, investor due diligence, or government examinations.
Financial Calendar & Compliance Tracker: Maintain a centralized calendar of tax returns, statutory filings, licenses, payroll filings, sales-tax filings, audit deadlines, loan payments, insurance payments and other financial obligations across all jurisdictions.
CEO/Management Reporting: Provide concise financial reporting that clearly explains where the organization is making money, where it is losing money, why performance differs from budget, upcoming cash requirements, major financial risks, and what corrective action is recommended.
Critical Accountability
This position should not function merely as a bookkeeper who records transactions after they happen. The expectation is proactive financial ownership: the individual should identify discrepancies, compliance risks, declining margins, excessive expenses, cash-flow problems and profitability opportunities before management has to discover or raise them.
