About the Role

Endurisk Advisory is hiring a Field Research Associate for a project focused on agriculture, value chains, finance, and institutional analysis in Jammu & Kashmir.

The position is full time and contract-based for an initial period of 3 months, with the candidate required to be based in Srinagar and undertake fieldwork across approximately 10 districts covering both divisions of Jammu & Kashmir.

The successful candidate will work as part of the project team and contribute to primary data collection, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, value-chain assessment, and development of policy recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Field Research & Data Collection

- Conduct fieldwork across 10 districts in Jammu & Kashmir.
- Undertake structured surveys and primary data collection.
- Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
- Support preparation of case studies.
- Engage with farmers, agricultural stakeholders, institutions, financial stakeholders, government representatives, and other relevant participants.
- Ensure accurate and systematic documentation of field findings.

Data Management & Analysis

- Clean and organise primary field data.
- Support quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Triangulate findings from surveys, KIIs, FGDs, case studies, and secondary research.
- Identify key trends, gaps, constraints, and opportunities.

Value Chain, Finance & Institutional Analysis

- Support assessment of agricultural value chains and key stakeholders.
- Analyse access to finance and relevant financing mechanisms.
- Assess institutional arrangements and stakeholder roles.
- Identify gaps and develop practical options and recommendations.

Policy & Action Framework

- Support preparation of a draft policy framework based on research findings.




- Contribute to development of a draft action matrix with proposed interventions and priorities.
- Support peer review and refinement of project outputs.

Stakeholder Validation

- Support organisation of a stakeholder validation workshop.
- Assist with presentation of findings and collection of stakeholder feedback.
- Document feedback and incorporate relevant inputs into the final outputs.

Education & Experience Preferred educational backgrounds include:

- Agriculture / Agricultural Sciences
- Statistics / Data Analytics
- MBA / Business Administration
- Economics / Development Studies
- Rural Development or related disciplines
- PhD scholars in relevant fields are encouraged to apply.

Experience in the following will be preferred:

- Agricultural or rural development projects
- Field-based research and data collection
- Surveys and stakeholder interviews
- KIIs and FGDs
- Agricultural value-chain analysis
- Data cleaning and analysis
- Institutional or policy research

Candidates with solid academic backgrounds and relevant research/fieldwork capabilities may also be considered.

Essential Requirements

- Must be based in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the project districts.
- Fluency in English and Kashmiri is compulsory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good research and analytical abilities.
- Ability to collect and document information accurately and objectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and data-handling tools is desirable.
