Field Coordinator EXIM & Customs Operations

Location: Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Navi Mumbai

Experience: 2–5 Years (Preferred in CHA / Freight Forwarding / Shipping

Job Summary The Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all field-level EXIM activities at Nhava Sheva Port. The role involves close coordination with Customs, CHA, CFS, Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, Transporters, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely customs clearance and movement of import/export shipments. The candidate should possess strong operational knowledge of customs procedures, documentation, and port logistics.

Key Responsibilities

- Customs Clearance & Port Coordination
- Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHA) for timely customs clearance.
- Follow up on assessment, examination, duty payment, Out of Charge (OOC), and cargo delivery.
- Coordinate with Customs officers, CFS, Shipping Lines, Port Authorities, and Transporters.
- Ensure smooth movement of containers from port/CFS to factory.
- Handle urgent shipment clearance and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Shipment Monitoring
- Track import and export shipments from vessel arrival until final delivery.
- Monitor container availability, delivery orders, gate-in/gate-out activities, and transportation.
- Follow up on vessel schedules, container discharge, and cargo availability.
- Provide daily shipment status updates to the EXIM & Logistics team.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Verify shipping documents including Bill of Lading, Delivery Order, Bill of Entry, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, and other customs documents.
- Coordinate with CHA to ensure accurate filing and timely customs clearance.
- Support document collection from Shipping Lines, CFS, and Customs.




- Coordination with Internal Teams
- Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Stores, Finance, PPC, and Warehouse teams for shipment planning.
- Support urgent material movement based on production requirements.
- Ensure timely communication regarding shipment delays, examinations, and customs queries.
- Operational Support
- Attend Customs, Shipping Line, CFS, and Port offices whenever required.
- Resolve operational issues to avoid demurrage, detention, port storage, and shipment delays.
- Maintain records of shipment activities and field visit reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Customs Clearance, CHA, Freight Forwarding, Shipping Line, or Port Operations.
- Valuable knowledge of Import & Export documentation and Customs procedures.
- Familiarity with ICEGATE, Shipping Lines, CFS operations, and Port processes.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Travel Requirement

- Primary work location will be Nhava Sheva (JNPT), Navi Mumbai.
- Daily travel to Customs House, CFSs, Shipping Line offices, Port Terminals, Transporters, and CHA offices will be required.
- The candidate may also be deputed to other Customs clearance locations across India as per business requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in handling high-volume import containers.
- Strong coordination skills with Government authorities and logistics partners.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Immediate joining will be preferred.
