Field Application Engineer – Aerospace & Defence

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused and technically solid Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support Aerospace & Defence customers across India. The role involves technical consulting, pre-sales engagements, solution demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, deployment support, and project execution for advanced simulation, testing, validation, and Model-Based Development (MBD) solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with dSPACE platforms, real-time simulation environments, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, embedded systems development, and verification & validation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary technical advisor for Aerospace & Defence customers throughout pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend optimal dSPACE-based solutions for simulation, testing, validation, and rapid control prototyping applications.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) activities.
- Support deployment, configuration, integration, and commissioning of dSPACE hardware and software platforms.

Provide application consulting in

- Model-Based Development (MBD)
- Software-in-the-Loop (SIL)
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
- Verification & Validation (V&V;)
- Embedded Control Systems

- Collaborate with sales teams to build technical proposals, solution architectures, and customer evaluations.
- Work closely with global engineering and support teams to address complex technical requirements.
- Deliver customer training, technical workshops, and project acceptance activities.




- Develop technical documentation, application notes, and customer success stories.
- Engage with emerging technologies and customer applications across:
- Avionics
- UAVs & Autonomous Systems
- Flight Control Systems
- Propulsion Systems
- Radar & Defense Electronics
- Mission-Critical Embedded Systems

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Defence, Embedded Systems, Simulation, Testing, Validation, or Application Engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of:
- Model-Based Design (MBD)
- Control Systems Engineering
- Embedded Software Development
- Verification & Validation Methodologies
- Real-Time Testing & Simulation
- Experience working directly with customers and supporting technical evaluations or deployments.
- Excellent presentation, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel across India for customer meetings, demonstrations, training, and project support.
