About Melaki Design

Melaki Design is a growing fashion and clothing brand specializing in stylish Indian, traditional, Indo Western, and custom designed clothing. As we expand our presence in Kerala, we are looking for a creative and passionate Fashion Designer & Boutique Associate to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves fashion, enjoys creating new designs, and wants to grow with an expanding brand.

We are looking for a talented and creative Fashion Designer who can develop beautiful, modern, and traditional clothing designs for Melaki Design.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of fabrics, colors, current fashion trends, garment construction, measurements, and styling. The designer will work closely with our tailoring team to turn concepts and customer requirements into finished garments.

In addition to fashion design responsibilities, the selected candidate should be willing to assist with boutique operations and customers when needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Create original designs for women's Indian, traditional, Indo Western, and contemporary clothing.
- Design and develop salwar suits, churidars, lehengas, blouses, dresses, and custom designer wear.
- Create sketches and design concepts for new Melaki collections.
- Recommend fabrics, colors, patterns, embellishments, and styling based on each design.
- Take customer measurements accurately and understand custom design requirements.




- Work closely with tailors to communicate designs, measurements, patterns, and finishing requirements.
- Assist with fittings, alterations, and quality checks before garments are delivered to customers.
- Help develop new seasonal, festive, bridal, and special collections.
- Stay updated on current Kerala, Indian, and international fashion trends.
- Help customers select designs, fabrics, styles, and outfits when required.
- Assist with boutique sales and daily store operations when needed.
- Help organize fabrics, garments, displays, and designer collections.
- Maintain professional and friendly communication with customers.

Requirements
- Fashion designing education, diploma, degree, certification, or relevant practical experience preferred.
- Positive knowledge of Indian and Kerala fashion styles.
- Understanding of fabrics, garment construction, measurements, fitting, and tailoring.
- Ability to sketch or communicate fashion design concepts clearly.
- Creative mindset with a strong sense of color, styling, and current fashion trends.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working directly with customers.
- Must be willing to assist with boutique/store operations when required.




- Basic computer and social media knowledge is an advantage.

Language Requirements Malayalam – Required

Hindi

English communication skills are an advantage.

Preferred Candidate

Salary ₹10,000 – ₹20,000 per month

Final salary will be determined based on the candidate's fashion design experience, skills, education, portfolio, and ability to handle responsibilities.

Experience

Fashion Design: Preferred, but talented freshers with a strong portfolio are encouraged to apply.

Retail/Boutique Experience: Preferred but not required.
