About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in women’s ethnic wear, Indian wear, or contemporary ethnic fashion.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian silhouettes, fabrics, prints, embroideries, colors, surface techniques, garment construction, and current fashion trends.

This role requires someone who can combine creativity with commercial understanding and translate concepts into collections that are wearable, production-friendly, trend-relevant, and aligned with the brand's identity.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop seasonal collections and new product ranges for women’s ethnic wear.
- Research current and upcoming trends in fashion, colors, fabrics, prints, embroidery, silhouettes, and surface ornamentation.
- Create mood boards, concept boards, color stories, themes, and collection directions.
- Design products including:

- Kurtas
- Kurta sets
- Anarkalis
- Co-ord sets
- Dresses
- Dupattas
- Lehengas
- Festive wear
- Occasion wear

• Prepare detailed design sheets, garment specifications, construction details, and technical references.
- Select and coordinate fabrics, trims, prints, embroideries, embellishments, motifs, and accessories.
- Work closely with sampling and production teams to convert concepts into prototypes and final samples.




- Review samples and recommend improvements related to fit, construction, embroidery, print placement, colors, finishing, and overall appearance.
- Coordinate with fabric suppliers, printers, embroiderers, artisans, manufacturers, and other vendors when required.
- Develop new prints, motifs, embroidery placements, and surface design concepts.
- Ensure all designs meet the brand’s aesthetic, quality standards, target customer preferences, and commercial requirements.
- Maintain design and seasonal development calendars to ensure collections are completed on schedule.
- Monitor competitor brands, market trends, and customer preferences to identify new product opportunities.
- Support styling, catalogue development, photoshoots, campaign planning, and product launches when required.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of women’s ethnic wear and contemporary Indian fashion.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, prints, embroidery, embellishments, and finishing techniques.
- Strong sense of color, proportion, silhouettes, styling, and aesthetics.
- Ability to develop commercially viable and production-friendly designs.




- Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and/or CorelDRAW.
- Strong fashion research and trend forecasting abilities.
- Understanding of sampling and garment development processes.
- Good communication and vendor coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple designs, collections, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

- 2–3 years of professional experience in women’s ethnic wear, Indian wear, or contemporary ethnic fashion.
- Experience working with sampling units, manufacturers, artisans, printers, embroidery vendors, or fabric suppliers.
- Experience in festive wear, occasion wear, premium ethnic wear, or handcrafted apparel will be an advantage.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
- Fashion Design
- Apparel Design
- Textile Design
- Fashion Technology
- Related Design Discipline
