Greenline Cocopeat is a growing manufacturer and exporter of high-quality cocopeat and coir-based growing media products serving customers in India and international markets.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Factory Manager / Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility and drive improvements in productivity, quality, efficiency, safety, and operational discipline.
Job Responsibilities1. Factory & Production Management
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of the factory.
- Plan, organize, and monitor production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Ensure smooth operation of cocopeat processing, screening, sieving, mixing, drying, compression, packing, and related production processes.
- Optimize manpower, machinery, raw materials, and production capacity.
- Monitor production output, productivity, wastage, downtime, and overall equipment utilization.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain proper production schedules based on customer orders and dispatch requirements.
1. Manpower Management
- Manage production supervisors, machine operators, helpers, maintenance personnel, and other factory staff.
- Plan manpower requirements according to production schedules.
- Allocate responsibilities and shifts effectively.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, discipline, and performance.
- Train employees on production procedures, machine operation, quality requirements, and safety practices.
- Develop a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
1. Quality Control
- Ensure that finished products consistently meet company and customer specifications.
- Establish and monitor quality checks at different stages of production.
- Work closely with the quality team to control parameters such as moisture, EC, pH, particle size, fibre content, expansion, compression, and other relevant specifications.
- Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper traceability of raw materials, production batches, and finished products.
1. Machinery & Maintenance
- Ensure all production machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective maintenance planning.
- Maintain machinery maintenance schedules and records.
- Work with maintenance personnel and external technicians for major repairs and equipment improvements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
1. Raw Material & Inventory Management
- Monitor availability and quality of raw materials such as coir pith, fibre, chips, and other production inputs.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels based on production and export schedules.
- Minimize raw-material losses, contamination, and unnecessary inventory.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished goods.
1. Safety, Compliance & ESG
- Ensure strict compliance with factory safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Implement and monitor machine safety SOPs and PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe material handling throughout the factory.
- Maintain documentation required for factory audits, customer audits, ESG audits, and certification requirements.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, social, health & safety, and sustainability practices.
1. Production Planning & Reporting
- Prepare daily and monthly production plans and monitor actual performance against targets.
- Maintain accurate production, manpower, downtime, wastage, and maintenance records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports for management.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action where required.
- Provide management with clear updates regarding production, quality, manpower, machinery, and operational issues.
1. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Improve production processes, workflow, material movement, and manpower utilization.
- Reduce wastage, rework, downtime, and unnecessary operating expenses.
- Introduce practical systems for 5S, preventive maintenance, production monitoring, and performance measurement.
- Work closely with management to implement expansion and capacity-enhancement projects.

Candidate Profile We are looking for a hands-on factory/operations professional who can independently manage a manufacturing facility and lead people effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering field preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical factory-management experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing/plant/factory operations.
- Experience in cocopeat, coir, agriculture-related manufacturing, food processing, biomass, packaging, or similar industries will be an advantage.
- Experience managing production teams and industrial machinery is essential.
