Alegeus seeks a Software Engineer to join our dedicated, passionate team of professionals. The Frontend Developer will report to the Development Manager and be responsible for helping our company succeed by expanding functional and technical capabilities in our products lines and meet client and industry growth demands.

MISSION

Join a new product development team charged with a product innovation mission. Be part of the formation of this team from its inception, challenged to deliver web portal experiences for employee benefit HR professionals and their administration partners. Develop applications using our new application development environment: a micro frontend architecture serving portal experiences in a framework-agnostic Javascript application shell designed to optimize technology re-use, adaptability, and developer experience.

As an early adopter of this development environment, inform its evolution and help Alegeus beat the competition with technology and focus on value delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Building good API-driven micro frontends covering domain boundaries using modern Javascript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, and Solid.

•For your frontend projects, implement and maintain continuous integration and deployment practices (e.g., NPM or NuGet).

•Demonstrate understanding on the Alegeus platform and technologies.

•As part of the production on-call rotation, research and respond to off hours escalations within 2-3 hours. The on-call rotation starts after 6 months, and cycles through every 4 months or so.

•Create code that you would be happy to inherit yourself: well-designed, well-structured, well-documented, and easy to change.

•Create and maintain a high-level of automated test coverage (unit,



functional, end-to-end) for all the code you write.

•Partner with your product owner to decide how best to implement what needs building.

•Internalize good UX principles into your development practice: strive to become a UX engineer not just a frontend developer.

•Occasionally work outside usual hours of business to support releases without impeding access to services during usual business hours.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or comparable experience preferred.

•6+ years’ frontend experience in modern frontend framework (Angular/React/Vue/Solid etc.) experience is highly preferred.

•Typescript experience is highly preferred.

•Experience working/adhering to Design Systems and App Shell framework would be a great advantage.

•Experience with testing frameworks for frontend development (i.e.: Enzyme, Mocha, Jest, etc.) preferred.

•Clean code as your standard.

•Familiarity with micro-frontend concepts, as well as microservice architecture.

•Experience in backend development a plus.
