KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Statutory compliance & Documentation
- Ensure plant-level compliance with the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH)

Code, 2020 and the applicable state OSH Rules, which now govern factory safety in place of the erstwhile Factories Act, 1948, along with any other applicable central/state EHS regulations.
- Maintain statutory registers, licences, and safety records (accident register, fire safety certificate,

PPE issuance records, training records, etc.) and support renewals and inspections.
- Coordinate with the Factory Inspectorate / labour department and other regulatory bodies during inspections and audits
- Risk Assessment & Machine / Process Safety
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for shop-floor operations, including edging (MEI) machines, ovens/curing equipment used in coating and tinting, and ASRS material-

handling systems (shuttles, lifts, conveyors)
- Implement and audit Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures for machine maintenance and breakdown activity.
- Review safe operating procedures (SOPs) for high-risk stations and recommend engineering or administrative controls
- Chemical & Process Safety (Coating / Tinting)
- Ensure safe storage, handling,



and disposal of chemicals used in the Hard Coating, ARC, and

Tinting processes, and maintain MSDS/SDS documentation
- Monitor ventilation, spill-response readiness, and PPE compliance in chemical-handling areas
- Training & Safety Culture
- Conduct safety induction for new joiners and contract workers, toolbox talks, and periodic refresher training (fire safety, first aid, manual handling, machine safety, chemical handling)
- Drive behaviour-based safety (BBS) observations and campaigns to build a proactive safety culture on the floor.
- Contractor & Vendor Safety
- Ensure safety compliance of housekeeping, security, and equipment-maintenance contractors/vendors operating in office
- Emergency Preparedness
- Maintain and test the plant's emergency response plan, including fire drills, evacuation drills, and mock drills covering ASRS/warehouse-specific scenarios.
- Ensure fire-fighting equipment, first-aid stations, and emergency exits are maintained and periodically inspected.
