Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to support the development, implementation, and management of health, safety, and environmental initiatives within the organization. The role will assist in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, promoting safe work practices, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. This crucial contribution extends to safeguarding the well-being of employees, preserving the environment, and strengthening the organization's commitment to HSE excellence.

The role includes but is not limited to:

Objectives:

- Ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures to maintain operational integrity
- Implement and monitor emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, protective equipment, and incident reporting
- Undertake risk assessments and implement control measures
- Promote a culture of responsibility, compliance, and continuous improvement to minimize accidents and incidents
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper policy implementation




- Liaise with Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and employees to ensure compliance with legal obligations and statutory requirements
- Implement and monitor HSEQ policy, procedures, and practices across all departments and sites
- Provide in-house training on health and safety issues
- Maintain detailed records of inspection findings and produce improvement reports
- Keep records of incidents and accidents, producing statistics for management
- Identify and resolve environmental issues with consideration of political, social, legal, and economic aspects
- Implement and monitor environmental strategies for sustainable development
- Coordinate resource use, pollution reduction, waste management, and employee involvement
- Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices
- Stay informed about environmental legislation and best practices

Operational Excellence:

- Maintain a proactive stance in keeping the organization consistently compliant with ever-evolving health, safety, and environmental regulations, which can help mitigate regulatory risks
- Emphasize the organization's commitment to HSE excellence as a selling point to attract new clients or retain existing ones who value these principles
- Maintain a positive HSE reputation that reflects the organization's dedication to ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible business practices, which can be a key driver of growth
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all legislation and any developments that affect the FM industry

Client Experience:

- Ambassador of strong safety culture within the organization, ensuring that clients and employees feel safe and secure in all settings
- Establish transparent and open lines of communication with clients and stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information on HSE matters
- Actively listen to client concerns, address inquiries promptly, and provide guidance or solutions related to health, safety, and environmental issues
- Tailor HSE solutions to meet individual client needs and industry-specific requirements, demonstrating a commitment to delivering relevant support





Project Management:

- Develop comprehensive project plans for HSE initiatives, including setting objectives, timelines, and resource requirements
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, clients, and partners, to ensure alignment and gather input on HSE projects
- Collect and document lessons learned from completed projects to inform future project improvements

Qualification / Experience

Education

- Bachelor’s (Science/Safety) degree minimum
- HSE related Certifications from recognized organizations

Experience
- 2-3 years of experience
- Industry: Facilities Management / Projects / Technical Consulting / Real Estate Management / Community Management / Construction /
- Previous Role: HSE Executive

Knowledge & Key Skills
- Excellent understanding of HSE requirements relating to operational activities
- Good level of interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborative Style. Fosters and develops beneficial partnerships
- Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients, prompt response to all queries
- Excellent time management skills and able to work to strict deadlines. High level of self-motivation and able to work with minimal supervision
- Fluent English language ability both spoken and written. Spoken Arabic or Hindi an advantage
- Skilled and smart appearance at all times
