Job Summary The Authorization and Verification Specialist U.S. Medical Billing is responsible for managing patient referrals, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining prior authorizations/LOA, and ensuring all required documentation is complete for smooth claims processing. This role requires strong communication skills, high accuracy, and solid knowledge of U.S. healthcare insurance and medical billing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Referral & Intake Processing

- Receive and review patient referrals from providers or healthcare facilities.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance details in the system.
- Ensure all necessary documents are collected, such as:

- Insurance cards

- Physician orders

- Prescriptions

- Supporting medical documents

2. Insurance Verification & Authorization

- Verify eligibility and benefits with primary and secondary insurance payers.
- Obtain prior authorizations/Letters of Agreement (LOA) as required.
- Track authorization status and follow up on pending or delayed requests.
- Communicate approvals, denials, or additional requirements to internal teams promptly.

3. Data Entry & Documentation





- Accurately enter patient, insurance, and authorization information into the billing/EMR system.
- Maintain updated records of referrals, eligibility checks, and authorization activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and organizational data security standards.

4. Coordination & Communication

- Act as a liaison between providers, insurance companies, and internal billing/RCM teams.
- Communicate with patients regarding coverage, co-payments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs when required.
- Work with the RCM team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to eligibility, benefits, or authorization delays.

Qualifications:

- Graduate in any discipline.
- Minimum 2year of experience in US healthcare voice process (
