MEE Operator (Multiple Effect Evaporator Operator)

Job Summary

The MEE Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) system used for concentration and treatment of process effluents or chemical solutions. The role ensures efficient plant operation, optimum steam consumption, product quality, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

- Operate and monitor MEE systems as per SOPs and production requirements.
- Start-up and shutdown of evaporator systems safely and efficiently.
- Maintain required temperature, pressure, vacuum, flow rate, and concentration parameters.
- Monitor feed tanks, condensate tanks, slurry systems, and associated equipment.
- Ensure smooth operation of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and agitators.

Process Monitoring:
- Record operational parameters in log sheets regularly.
- Monitor steam consumption, evaporation efficiency, and product concentration.
- Identify process abnormalities and take corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production, Utility, Boiler, and ETP teams for uninterrupted operation.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Carry out routine inspection of equipment and pipelines.
- Report leakages, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Assist maintenance team during preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of pumps, vacuum systems, and instrumentation.

Safety & Compliance:
- Follow plant safety standards, PPE usage, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals and process materials.
- Maintain housekeeping in operating areas as per GMP/5S practices.




- Support compliance with pollution control norms and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems.

Documentation:
- Maintain shift logbooks, operational records, and utility consumption data.
- Report daily production and downtime details to supervisors.
- Ensure proper documentation as per ISO/GMP/EHS requirements.

Job Title: ETP/RO/MEE/WTP Chemist

Job Summary:

The ETP/RO/MEE/WTP Chemist is responsible for the effective operation, monitoring, and maintenance of effluent treatment systems including the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE), and Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The role ensures compliance with environmental norms and supports sustainable water management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate, monitor, and maintain the ETP, RO, MEE, and WTP systems as per standard operating procedures.
- Conduct chemical analysis and water quality testing of influent, effluent, treated water, and sludge.
- Monitor and maintain pH, TDS, COD, BOD, MLSS, and other key parameters regularly.
- Ensure optimal dosing of chemicals and adjust process parameters accordingly.
- Maintain proper records/logbooks for water analysis, plant operations, and chemical consumption.
- Conduct daily inspection of treatment units and identify faults or maintenance needs.




- Liaise with the maintenance team for troubleshooting and servicing of pumps, valves, and other mechanical/electrical components.
- Ensure compliance with pollution control board (PCB) norms and assist in documentation for audits and inspections.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure adherence to safety protocols in the plant.
- Handle safe storage and usage of treatment chemicals like lime, alum, PAC, polyelectrolytes, etc.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Sound knowledge of effluent/water treatment processes and environmental standards
- Familiar with analytical instruments like pH meter, TDS meter, spectrophotometer, etc.
- Understanding of hazardous waste handling & disposal norms
- Proficient in record keeping and reporting
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and in shift operations

Qualification & Experience:

- Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or relevant discipline
- Experience: 2 to 6 years in ETP/RO/MEE/WTP operations in a chemical or allied manufacturing industry

ETP, MEE, RO, WTP Executive 1 Responsible for all shift operations related to MEE, ATFD & ETP plant.

2 Should be able to start up and shutdown MEE plant through standard operating procedure. 3 Supervise, monitor & help in trouble shooting of MEE & ETP.

4 Maintain Log sheets of MEE & ETP plant operations.

5 Conduct MEE & ETP observations to monitor the effluent quality & make recommendation for improvement.

6 Reporting of abnormalities, failure to section head and take corrective measures as per guidelines.

7 Adequate knowledge for different parameters of lab analysis of wastewater like COD, MLVSS, TDS, SS, Total Hardness, Ammonical Nitrogen, etc.

8 Will be responsible for hazardous waste disposal generated from MEE & ETP.
