Role & responsibilities:

Tender & Bid Preparation:

- Analyze client Requests for Quotations (RFQs), tender documents, scopes of work, and engineering drawings.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and take-offs for multi-disciplinary scopes (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation). [1, 2, 3]
- Cost Calculation (CAPEX & OPEX):
- Develop comprehensive cost models covering direct costs (bulk materials, equipment, direct labor) and indirect costs (site mobilization, temporary facilities, permits, insurances).
- Compute accurate estimates for engineering services, procurement packages, and construction erection phases. [1, 2]
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes, market pricing, and rate schedules.
- Conduct commercial and technical evaluations of vendor quotations before final inclusion in the estimate. [1, 2]
- Risk Assessment & Value Engineering:
- Identify potential project cost risks, execution constraints, and site-specific challenges.
- Perform contingency assessments, sensitivity analysis,



and suggest value engineering alternatives to optimize client budgets. [1, 2, 3]
- Documentation & Handoff:
- Prepare the final Basis of Estimate (BOE) document outlining all assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Hand over winning estimates and cost breakdowns smoothly to the execution and cost control teams upon project award.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Education: BE/B.Tech Or Diploma in Civil Engineering (Must be full time course from reputed AICTE/UGC approved Institutions/Universities ).
- Experience: 8 to 13 years of relevant experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying within an EPC projects such as oil & gas, railways, Metro, Roads, Highways, building infrastructure etc.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, P&IDs;, and drawings.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Primavera, Candy, Success, or enterprise ERP tools) and MS Excel.
- Deep understanding of contract types (Lump Sum Turnkey [LSTK], EPC, Item Rate).
