Role Overview:

The ERP Head / Technical Lead will own the end-to-end delivery and operation of the University’s in-house ERP and associated digital platforms. The role combines technology leadership, full-stack architecture, product ownership, DevOps, stakeholder management, quality assurance, integrations, user enablement and operational support. The individual will act as the bridge between management objectives, institutional processes and the engineering team while retaining sufficient technical depth to review architecture, code, infrastructure and releases.

Educational Qualification

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage Frontend, Backend, QA and Functional/Technical support & training teams; plan priorities, sprint/development activities, operational work and delivery timelines.

· Engage regularly with University management, department heads, colleges and administrative stakeholders to understand new processes, requirements, pain points and improvement opportunities.

· Translate institutional and management requirements into clear functional specifications, technical deliverables, priorities and execution plans for the development team.

· Coordinate new module discussions, process validation and requirement clarification with functional/technical coordinators who bridge colleges/departments and developers.

· Align frontend and backend development, track execution, review dependencies and ensure features are functionally and technically complete.

· Ensure appropriate QA, functional validation and end-to-end testing before release; perform an overall review of critical changes before production deployment.

· Own release management across staging and production environments, including CI/CD, deployment coordination, production readiness and post-deployment monitoring.

· Own/oversee DevOps and application infrastructure in the absence of a separate DevOps team, including availability, scaling, load balancing, storage, databases, backups and operational reliability.

· Coordinate and oversee integrations with third-party services, devices and institutional systems.

· Plan regular ERP training, user onboarding,



feedback sessions and meetings with departments; ensure operational adoption and closure of user queries.

· Support technology procurement when required, including requirement/specification preparation, vendor identification, technical comparison, evaluation, approval coordination, ordering, setup and implementation.

· Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities for automation, new modules, process simplification, performance improvement and better user experience.

· Oversee maintenance and future development of University and college websites/sub-websites and associated digital properties.

Technology & Platform Landscape:

· Application Stack: Centralized Django/Python backend; Next.js-based web frontends; Flutter mobile application.

· Environments & DevOps: Staging and production environments; Jenkins-based CI/CD; release and deployment management.

· Infrastructure: MinIO object storage; database cluster with ProxySQL; multiple backend instances and load-balancing architecture.

· Integrations: Biometric devices, payment gateways, IVR/SIP lines, WhatsApp Business (WABA), third-party email services, ID-card printing systems and planned POS integrations.

· Digital Platforms: Student Portal, Admission Portal, Careers Portal, Admin/Employee Portal, Performance & Appraisal System, Events Portal, lead management and other ERP academic/administrative modules.

· Future / Extended Scope: University website and college sub-websites, additional ERP modules, integrations and digital services.

Required Experience & Competencies:

· Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in software engineering, ERP/product development, technology delivery or a comparable end-to-end digital environment.

· Demonstrated experience leading a multidisciplinary technology team of approximately 10–15 members.

· Strong full-stack understanding; the role is not intended for a frontend-only or backend-only specialist.

· Robust knowledge of Python/Django, modern frontend architecture such as Next.js/React, REST/API design and relational databases.

· Working understanding of mobile application architecture; Flutter experience is preferred.

· Practical knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins, Linux/server environments, deployment, load balancing, object storage,



database clustering/proxying, monitoring and production troubleshooting.

· Ability to understand and review code, system design and architecture and guide teams toward scalable, maintainable and faster development.

· Experience integrating payment, communication, device and other third-party services through APIs or related protocols.

· Strong product/project ownership with the ability to prioritize competing development, operational and stakeholder requirements.

· Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to convert management/business objectives into executable technical roadmaps.

· Experience in vendor evaluation, technical procurement and infrastructure planning is desirable.

· Experience with University/Education ERP or another complex multi-department institutional environment is highly desirable.

Leadership & Operating Expectations

· Be technically hands-on enough to challenge designs, diagnose critical issues and make informed architecture/release decisions.

· Maintain regular engagement with department heads and operational users rather than operating only as an engineering manager.

· Balance current development with live-system operations, support, training, stability and security.

· Build internal capability through documentation, knowledge transfer and Train-the-Trainer/user training programs.

· Establish clear ownership, quality gates, release discipline and measurable delivery across the ERP team.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate has previously owned a sizeable ERP, SaaS, enterprise application or institutional technology ecosystem end to end. They should be comfortable moving between management discussions, process design, engineering reviews, infrastructure decisions, production issues and user adoption. Prior experience in an education/university setting is advantageous, but strong experience in a similarly complex multi-stakeholder organization may also be suitable.
