Role Description The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist is a full time, on-site role based in Warora, responsible for monitoring and improving safety and environmental practices across the thermal power plant. Day-to-day activities include conducting safety inspections and audits, assessing environmental impacts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. The EHS Specialist will develop and implement EHS procedures, prepare reports and documentation, and support risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

The role involves delivering safety and environmental training, coordinating emergency preparedness drills, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and management teams to promote a strong safety culture.



The specialist will also support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce environmental footprint and enhance worker health and safety.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and compliance requirements in industrial or power plant settings.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, hazard identification, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Skills in safety audits, inspections, and monitoring of environmental parameters such as emissions, waste management, and pollution control.
- Ability to develop and deliver EHS training programs, safety campaigns, and awareness initiatives for diverse workforce groups.
- Proficiency in documentation, report writing, data analysis, and use of EHS-related software or tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in EHS are an advantage.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence safe work practices on-site.
- Prior experience in thermal power plants or heavy industrial environments is preferred, along with readiness to work in field conditions at the Warora site.
