ROLE OVERVIEW

- The Enterprise Solutions Architect – AI &

• Automation shapes and designs enterprise AI and automation solutions from concept through to executable architecture.

- The role combines strategic thought leadership, strong solution architecture and clear communication — challenging assumptions, identifying emerging opportunities and translating complex business problems into scalable, secure and pragmatic solutions.
- Working with Product, Engineering, Data and Delivery teams, the role establishes the right data, integration, security and governance foundations while accelerating delivery through reusable patterns, clear guardrails and well-defined solution approaches.

As part of the Enterprise Technology Architecture team, the Enterprise Solutions Architect – AI &

• Automation provides architectural leadership for the adoption and scaling of AI and automation across Enterprise Technology.

It will

- Shape the strategic direction and architecture for AI, agentic and automation capabilities.
- Design end-to-end solutions across AI, data, integration, security and enterprise platforms.
- Act as a strategic thought partner, challenging assumptions and influencing technology direction.
- Translate emerging AI capabilities into pragmatic, reusable enterprise patterns.
- Communicate complex issues clearly to both senior stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Use architecture to accelerate decision-making, reduce duplication and enable greater self-service.

• Strategy

- Shape the target architecture and strategic direction for AI, agentic and automation capabilities across Enterprise Technology.
- Translate business and technology strategy into scalable,



pragmatic solution architectures and roadmaps.
- Challenge assumptions, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and provide an independent architectural point of view.
- Ensure alignment with wider Enterprise Technology, Data and enterprise architecture strategy.

Solution, Data & Platform Architecture
- Lead the end-to-end architecture of AI and automation solutions across applications, data, integration, security and cloud platforms.
- Establish the data, integration and compliance foundations required for trusted and scalable AI.
- Define patterns for agent orchestration, enterprise system interaction, workflow automation and AI-enabled decisioning.
- Work with Engineering and Data teams to ensure designs are technically credible, implementable and operationally resilient.

Governance and Responsible AI
- Embed security, privacy, responsible AI and regulatory requirements into solution design from the outset.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, guardrails and reference designs that enable teams to deliver safely at pace.
- Provide proportionate design assurance for AI and automation initiatives.

Delivery Enablement & Influence
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data and Delivery leaders to shape solutions from concept through implementation.
- Accelerate delivery through clear decisions, reusable patterns and greater engineering self-service.
- Communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Influence technology investment, vendor choices and roadmap priorities through architectural insight and business value.

- Able to move fluently between strategic discussion and credible technical engagement with engineering and delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of data, security, privacy, governance and responsible AI as foundations for enterprise AI adoption.
- Clear and concise communicator, able to distil complex architectural problems into executive-ready narratives and actionable decisions.
- Strong influencing skills, able to bring teams on the journey while constructively challenging established approaches.
- Delivery-focused mindset, using architecture to accelerate decision-making, enable reuse and support greater engineering self-service.
- Demonstrates clear personal ownership and accountability for architectural decisions, outcomes and impact.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

- Proven experience in solution or enterprise architecture within complex, multi-entity or global environments.
- Strong hands-on architecture experience designing enterprise AI and agentic solutions, including agent orchestration, tool integration, human oversight and, where appropriate, multi-agent patterns.
- Demonstrated experience taking AI-enabled solutions from concept through architecture into delivery, working closely with engineering and product teams.
- Solid technical understanding of data architecture, integration, APIs, event-driven patterns, cloud platforms and enterprise application ecosystems.
- Experience designing secure, resilient and compliant AI solutions, including data privacy, AI/model lifecycle governance, evaluation, observability, auditability and responsible AI controls.
- Evidence of independently shaping technology direction, challenging established approaches and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience creating reusable patterns, reference architectures or guardrails that accelerated delivery and improved engineering self-service.
- Experience delivering AI, automation or digital transformation initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
- Exposure to major cloud AI platforms and AI orchestration frameworks; AWS experience is desirable.
- Relevant architecture, cloud, integration or automation certifications are desirable but not essential.
