About the Team and the Role

The Quality, Plant Quality team at Ather is responsible for driving quality compliance across plant manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to process guidelines, and managing internal and external audit frameworks.

This role is for a Plant Quality - Engineer (Audit) who will plan and conduct internal IMS, process, and PPAP audits, track non-conformities, evaluate root cause analysis and CAPA effectiveness, and verify compliance across vehicle assembly, battery pack, module, and cell manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

- Plan and execute internal IMS audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), process audits, and manufacturing PPAP audits.

- Support external certification, customer, and regulatory audits while driving non-conformity tracking and timely closure.

- Audit vehicle assembly, battery pack, module, and cell processes for compliance with SOPs, Control Plans, PFMEA, and EHS norms.

- Evaluate critical-to-quality and safety-critical manufacturing processes to ensure process capability and adherence.

- Audit 8D reports, root cause analysis, and CAPA effectiveness to verify long-term sustainability of corrective actions.

- Review customer complaint investigations and validate closed-loop engineering corrective actions.

- Audit multi-level Bills of Materials (BOM) for vehicle and battery pack assemblies to ensure BOM accuracy.

- Monitor Change Request (CR) implementation and adherence levels across production processes.

Experience and Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

- 7 to 12 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the automobile industry.

- Certifications: ISO / IATF Internal Auditor, Six Sigma.

Must Have Competencies

- Plan and execute ISO 9001, 14001,



45001, and process audits within high-volume automotive manufacturing environments.

- Audit manufacturing PPAP, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOM), and Engineering Change Request (CR) implementation.

- Evaluate 8D reports, root cause analysis, and CAPA effectiveness across vehicle and battery assembly processes.

- Audit critical-to-quality and safety-critical systems for compliance with Control Plans, PFMEA, and SOPs.

Valuable to Have Competencies

- Operate ERP systems, traceability platforms, and production tracking software for quality audit tracking.

- Utilize EV and high-voltage battery manufacturing processes and plant safety frameworks during quality audits.

- Apply problem-solving tools and risk assessment methodologies across plant quality operations.

- Execute cross-functional audit coordination and regulatory compliance verification.
