Employee Relations Manager (GCC)

Position Summary:

The Employee Relations Manager will serve as the primary advisor on Employee Relations, Grievance handling and setting up and operationalizing labor compliance adherence for the organization. This role provides strategic, operational inputs and secures implementation across employment laws, employee litigation, labor regulatory compliance with the company’s operations in India. Build a proactive ER framework that promotes a positive employee experience, workplace harmony, and organizational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of India Labor Laws, Codes and frameworks, experience supporting multinational organizations, working in matrixed organizations, and strong expertise in the field. The role will work closely with India Legal Counsel, US Legal and US Employee Relations teams as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

- The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for:
- HR Labor Law Strategy & Implementation
- Provide expert guidance on a broad range of employment, labor regulatory matters impacting the Global Capability Center (GCC).
- Partner with business leaders and HR stakeholders to advise on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievance management, workplace investigations, performance issues, misconduct cases, and separations.
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of HR policies, practices, and processes, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements in India.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Employee Relations strategy that fosters a positive work environment,



strengthens employee engagement, mitigates workplace risks, and ensures uninterrupted business operations.
- Establish and drive governance frameworks, compliance review mechanisms, and risk management practices to proactively identify, assess, and address employee relations and labor law risks.
- Monitor legislative developments and emerging employment law trends, providing timely recommendations to ensure organizational readiness and compliance.
- Drive stakeholder awareness and capability building through training, communication, and advisory initiatives on labor law compliance and employee relations best practices.

Employee Relations Case & Workplace Investigations:

- Manage complex employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary actions, misconduct investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace complaints.
- Lead sensitive investigations while ensuring procedural fairness, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions and ensure consistent application of company policies. Monitor investigation outcomes and identify systemic improvements.
- Lead investigations related to misconduct, ethics violations, workplace concerns, and policy breaches.
- Partner with Ethics, Compliance, Legal, and HR teams to ensure objective and timely resolution of cases.

Regulatory Compliance and Governance:

- Lead labor law compliance and regulatory governance across the GCC, ensuring adherence to applicable statutory requirements.
- Monitor changes in Indian labor laws and proactively recommend updates to policies, practices, and compliance frameworks.
- Partner with Corporate ER, HR, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure alignment and effective risk management.
- Oversee statutory compliance filings, audits, regulatory inspections, and interactions with government authorities.




- Support litigation, labor disputes, investigations, and regulatory inquiries in collaboration with Legal.
- Ensure the establishment, compliance, and effectiveness of statutory committees, including POSH and Grievance Redressal Committees.
- Implement governance and risk review mechanisms to identify, mitigate, and report employee relations and compliance risks.

Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders,
- Liaise effectively with external labor regulatory authorities, and government agencies.
- Provide labor law awareness training and guidance to GCC leaders and associates to foster a culture of compliance and integrity.

Skills & Qualifications:

- We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

Education:

- Certified POSH Internal Committee member experience
- Experience establishing ER programs in a GCC or multinational environment
- Experience managing employment-related investigations and labor inspections
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree specializing in Labor Relations and Employment Law.

Experience:

- 10+ years of handling the Employee Relations responsibilities, ideally supporting multinational or U.S.-based corporations.
- Strong experience with India employment labor compliance laws.
- Preferred if have experience of working in Tech Start Ups / GCC.

Key Competencies:

- Strong business acumen and ability to provide practical, risk-balanced legal advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & Kannada required).
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Deep expertise in Indian employment and labor laws
- Experience managing interactions with labor authorities, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Knowledge of Employee Relations practices, investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace governance.
- Solid consulting / problem resolution experience with demonstrated ability to influence all employee levels from front line to senior leaders;
- Demonstrates expected risk/controls behaviors by holding self and others accountable to operate within established standards and procedures.
