About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Security Engineer to design, implement, and validate security architectures for our IoT and smart home product line, including Remote Control Units (RCUs), gateways, and connected home devices. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience securing embedded systems end-to-end — from silicon-level cryptographic primitives to wireless protocol security.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement embedded security features for IoT/smart home devices and RCUs, including secure boot, flash encryption, and tamper detection
- Implement and integrate cryptographic algorithms — AES, RSA, TRNG — using hardware security modules (HSM) / secure elements
- Develop and harden Wi-Fi security implementations (WPA/WPA2/WPA3) and Bluetooth (BLE/Classic) security stacks
- Perform threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and vulnerability assessments for connected devices
- Work closely with hardware and firmware teams to define chip-level security requirements (secure boot chain, key provisioning, root of trust)
- Implement secure over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms with signature verification
- Conduct penetration testing / security validation of embedded firmware and wireless interfaces
- Debug and resolve security-related issues across the firmware stack
- Maintain compliance with relevant IoT security standards (e.g., PSA Certified, Matter/Thread security requirements, NIST guidelines)




- Document security architecture, threat models, and mitigation strategies

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of experience in embedded systems development with a focus on security
- Strong understanding of cryptography fundamentals: AES, RSA, TRNG, hashing (SHA family)
- Experience with Secure Boot implementation and chain-of-trust concepts
- Hands-on experience with Flash Encryption and Tamper Detection mechanisms
- Working knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) / Secure Elements
- Solid experience with Wi-Fi security protocols: WPA1/WPA2/WPA3
- Experience with Bluetooth (BLE/Classic) protocol stack and security features
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded/firmware development
- Experience with RTOS-based development (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
- Familiarity with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Zigbee, Thread, Matter — as applicable)
- Understanding of common attack vectors on embedded/IoT devices (side-channel, fault injection, firmware extraction, replay attacks)

Positive to Have

- Experience with specific SoC/MCU platforms used in smart home/RCU products (e.g., ESP32, Nordic nRF, Realtek, etc.)
- Exposure to security certifications (PSA Certified, FIPS 140-2/3, Common Criteria)
- Experience with secure key provisioning/manufacturing flows
- Knowledge of static/dynamic analysis tools for firmware security
- Experience with penetration testing tools/frameworks for embedded/wireless systems

Qualifications

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
