Job Summary

We are looking for an Electronics & Communication Engineer to support the installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of electronic, communication, navigation, automation, and control systems onboard vessels. The candidate should have valuable technical knowledge and a practical approach to marine electrical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of marine electronic and communication systems.

- Troubleshoot electronic circuits, control systems, communication equipment, and associated cabling.

- Work with navigation and communication systems such as:

- VHF / UHF communication systems

- GPS / GNSS

- AIS

- Radar

- Echo Sounder

- Gyro Compass

- GMDSS equipment

- PA / PAGA systems

- Intercom and telephone systems

- CCTV and access-control systems

- Assist in installation and troubleshooting of PLC, sensors, transmitters, control panels, and automation systems.

- Read and interpret electrical/electronic drawings, wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment manuals.

- Carry out cable routing, termination, testing, insulation checks, continuity checks, and signal verification.

- Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Production, QA/QC, and Project teams during vessel repair and commissioning activities.

- Conduct functional testing and commissioning of electronic and communication equipment.

- Identify equipment faults and coordinate with OEM/service engineers where required.

- Prepare testing reports, inspection reports, commissioning records, and maintenance documentation.

- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and project schedules.

- Support IRS/DG Shipping/classification society inspections related to electronic and communication systems.





- Monitor subcontractor/vendor activities and ensure quality and timely completion of assigned works.

- Maintain proper records of materials, equipment, testing, and completed works.

Technical Skills

- Positive knowledge of analog and digital electronics.

- Knowledge of marine communication, navigation, and electronic systems.

- Basic knowledge of PLC, automation, instrumentation, sensors, and control systems.

- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and equipment manuals.

- Knowledge of electronic testing equipment such as multimeter, insulation tester, signal generator, oscilloscope, etc.

- Understanding of serial communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and basic networking is an advantage.

- Knowledge of LAN, Ethernet, IP-based communication, and marine communication networks is desirable.

- Familiarity with marine electrical/electronic standards and class requirements will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or equivalent.

- Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering may be considered for suitable candidates.

Experience

- 0–4 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, industrial automation, electronics, or related industries.

- Freshers with strong technical knowledge and willingness to work in a shipyard environment may also be considered.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
