Reporting To: Production Manager / Electrical Supervisor
1. Job Summary
The Panel Electrician will be responsible for electrical panel assembly, wiring, component installation, testing and troubleshooting of electrical control panels and distribution panels as per approved electrical drawings and company quality standards.
1. Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings and control circuit drawings.
- Perform panel assembly and installation of electrical components as per approved drawings.
- Carry out control wiring, power wiring and interconnection wiring.
- Install and wire components such as:
- MCCB / MCB / ACB
- Contactors and overload relays
- Relays and timers
- Push buttons and selector switches
- Indicating lamps
- Terminal blocks
- SMPS / transformers
- VFDs and soft starters
- PLC and control components
- Meters and other electrical accessories
- Perform ferruling, wire numbering, cable dressing and termination.
- Carry out proper crimping and termination of wires and cables.
- Install copper/aluminium busbars and carry out busbar connections as per drawings.
- Ensure proper gland fitting, cable termination and earthing.
- Maintain proper wire routing, cable dressing and panel workmanship.
- Check component mounting and panel assembly against approved GA drawings.
- Perform continuity checks and basic electrical testing.
- Assist in panel testing, fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Rectify wiring and assembly-related issues identified during inspection or testing.
- Support the testing team during FAT / customer inspection, whenever required.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the panel assembly area.
- Follow company procedures for quality, safety and electrical work practices.
1. Technical Skills Required
- Positive knowledge of electrical panel wiring and assembly.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of control and power circuits.
- Knowledge of electrical components and their applications.
- Knowledge of wire ferruling, crimping and cable termination.
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as:
- Multimeter
- Megger
- Continuity tester
- Clamp meter
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical panels will be an advantage.
1. Educational Qualification
ITI Electrician Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
