Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand across automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence markets.

Space

Responsibilities:

RFQ Review & Technical Assessment

- Review RFQs, drawings, specifications, BOMs, data packages, and customer standards to identify gaps and develop structured clarification lists.
- Assess technical feasibility, electrical design requirements, product risks, and compliance considerations for proposed solutions.

Electrical Design & Technology Leadership

- Lead the electrical and product technology workstream within the bid team.
- Direct DFM, Electrical Engineering (EE) design, and RF engineering activities to ensure robust and manufacturable product solutions.
- Own risk arbitration across schematic, PCB layout, component selection, and radio frequency domains.

Solution Development & Risk Management

- Define technical solutions, basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Drive risk assessments and validation planning to support evidence-based decision making and proposal development.

Technical Proposal & Costing Support

- Develop estimates for resource loading, tooling requirements, NRE costs, CapEx investments,



lead times, and implementation milestones.
- Prepare auditable calculations, compliance matrices, technical narratives, costing inputs, and management approval documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer teams to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
- Challenge unsupported assumptions and reconcile inconsistencies across engineering, process, test, automation, quality, and supply chain inputs.

Supplier & Customer Engagement

- Support supplier technical evaluations, quotation reviews, and make-versus-buy analyses.
- Participate in customer clarification meetings, solution reviews, Red Team reviews, and Gold Team reviews to ensure proposal readiness and closure of assigned actions.

Validation & Manufacturing Readiness

- Define electrical validation strategies, acceptance criteria, qualification requirements, and key deliverables needed for transfer into NPI and volume manufacturing.
- Ensure smooth cross-functional design transfer from development into manufacturing operations.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain controlled templates, estimation databases, lessons learned, and reusable proposal artifacts for future programs.
- Ensure compliance with Tata Electronics information security, confidentiality, quality, and document control requirements.

Essential Attributes:

1. Strong expertise in electrical design assurance, DFM/DFx methodologies, and design review leadership.
2.



Experience in electrical system design, PCB design reviews, schematic validation, RF design considerations, and product engineering.
3. Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams supporting complex customer RFQs, technical proposals, and industrialization programs.
4. Solid understanding of technical risk assessment, validation planning, and evidence-based engineering decision-making.
5. Experience in product lifecycle management, engineering change control, configuration management, and release governance.
6. Ability to evaluate manufacturability, reliability, and product readiness throughout the product lifecycle.
7. Proven experience supporting NPI, manufacturing industrialization, and volume production transfer within EMS or complex manufacturing environments.
8. Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with global customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
10. Willingness to travel for customer workshops, supplier reviews, equipment trials, and program reviews as required.

Qualifications:

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or another discipline relevant to the role.
- Postgraduate specialization in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Design, RF Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Desired Experience Level:

- 12-18 years of experience in Electrical Design, Product Engineering, Design Validation, RF Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing Industrialization, or related engineering functions within EMS, Electronics Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Telecommunications, Automotive, or other complex product manufacturing environments.
