Education Advisor / Student Counsellor

About the Role

IMS Varanasi is looking for a motivated and student-focused Education Advisor / Student Counsellor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for counselling students and parents, understanding their academic and career aspirations, recommending suitable test-preparation programs, and driving student enrolments.

This role requires a combination of strong communication skills, counselling ability, customer orientation, and a results-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Career Counselling

Counsel students and parents through walk-ins, inbound leads, calls, and other enquiries. Understand students’ academic backgrounds, career aspirations, and exam preferences.

Recommend suitable preparation programs such as CAT, IPMAT, CLAT, CUET, GRE, and other relevant entrance examinations.

Explain program offerings, course structure, fees, schedules, and other relevant details clearly.

1. Lead Management & Conversion

Handle and respond to prospective student enquiries in a timely manner. Follow up consistently with leads through calls, messages, and other communication channels.

Convert qualified enquiries into enrolments while maintaining a positive student experience.

Maintain accurate lead and follow-up records on CRM systems.

1. Student & Parent Engagement

Build robust relationships with students and parents. Address queries related to entrance examinations, eligibility, preparation, and admission processes.





Provide timely and appropriate guidance throughout the decision-making process.

Ensure a high level of student and parent satisfaction.

1. Centre Operations & Support

Support day-to-day walk-in and counselling operations at the centre. Coordinate with academic and operations teams to ensure a seamless student experience.

Assist in organising and executing centre-level events, workshops, seminars, and student engagement activities.

1Maintain accurate student and lead databases.

1. Target Achievement

Work towards achieving monthly and quarterly enrolment targets. Track personal performance and follow-up effectiveness.

Contribute actively towards overall centre growth and business objectives.

Key Requirements

Graduate in any discipline.

Prior experience in Education Counselling, Career Counselling, Admissions, Sales, or Student

Relationship Management is preferred.

Experience in the EdTech, Test-Prep, Coaching, or Education industry will be an advantage.

Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and active-listening skills.

Ability to understand student needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Strong persuasion, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Comfortable working towards targets and performance goals.

Empathetic, patient, confident, and professional in dealing with students and parents.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
