- Assess and manage patients attending the Emergency Department and OPD as required.
- Attend emergency and urgent medical cases promptly.
- Perform initial patient assessment and clinical examination.
- Monitor admitted patients and review their clinical condition.
- Identify deteriorating patients and escalate to the concerned consultant immediately.
- Initiate appropriate emergency management and life-support measures when required.
- Assist in Code Blue, CPR, and other emergency response activities.
- Coordinate with consultants and specialists for patient management.
- Implement treatment plans and medical orders prescribed by consultants.
- Review investigation reports and communicate significant findings to the concerned doctor.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records and clinical documentation.
- Prepare and maintain case sheets, progress notes, discharge summaries, referral notes, and other required records.
- Ensure proper patient identification and documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Handle medico-legal cases according to hospital policy and applicable requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of emergency cases, injuries, and other relevant cases.
- Participate in patient handover between shifts.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up and escalation of pending investigations and clinical issues.
- Provide information and appropriate communication to patients and attendants within the scope of duty.
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical audits, training, and hospital activities.
- Perform other medical duties assigned by the Medical Superintendent / Hospital Management.
