The Anode Caster Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the anode casting process in a smelting or metal refining facility. This role involves controlling the equipment that casts molten fire refined copper into anodes, ensuring quality, safety, and production efficiency.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety, environmental, and health procedures, including the use of PPE. Monitor work area for hazards and take corrective actions when needed. Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training as required.

Casting Operations: Operate the anode caster to pour molten metal into pre-heated molds in a secure and controlled manner. Monitor casting temperature, pour speed, and metal flow to ensure consistent casting quality. Align and inspect molds prior to casting to ensure proper positioning and mechanical function. Maintain proper mold spacing and alignment to prevent overflow, sticking, or casting defects. Monitor and control anode weights to meet specified tolerances and product quality standards.

Equipment Management: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of casting machines, mold tracks, and hydraulic systems.



Ensure casting molds are clean, lubricated, and free from damage or buildup. Work closely with maintenance teams for planned and unplanned repairs. Record equipment parameters and report abnormalities in equipment performance.

Crane Operations: Safely operate overhead cranes to transport molten metal ladles and WIP. Coordinate crane movements with the casting process to ensure continuous, safe workflow. Follow all crane safety protocols including load limits, signal communication, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Production Monitoring & Reporting: Log production data, including anode weights, casting times, defects, and machine parameters. Work closely with control room operators, furnace operators, and quality teams. Support efforts to meet production targets while minimizing downtime and waste.
