Chitkara University invites applications from accomplished academic leaders with substantial prior industry experience in:

- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking professionals currently engaged in academia who bring a strong understanding of contemporary engineering practices, emerging technologies, and industry requirements. The selected leader will develop industry-aligned curricula, strengthen corporate collaborations, and enhance students’ practical learning and employability.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic and academic leadership for the respective engineering discipline.
- Develop curricula aligned with emerging technologies, global practices, and evolving industry requirements.
- Integrate live projects, industry case studies, contemporary tools, and real-world challenges into academic delivery.
- Build partnerships with engineering organisations, manufacturing companies, infrastructure firms, skilled bodies, and government agencies.
- Create opportunities for internships, certifications, industrial exposure, consultancy, applied research, and placements.
- Develop industry-supported laboratories, Centres of Excellence, and collaborative initiatives.
- Mentor faculty members and encourage industry exposure, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Introduce new programmes, specialisations, and certifications based on future industry trends.
- Strengthen student employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and professional readiness.

Qualifications and Experience




- Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Preferably 15–20 years of combined academic and industry experience .
- Currently working in academia, academic leadership, or institution-building.
- Preferably 7–10 years of relevant prior industry experience .
- Proven experience in curriculum development, programme leadership, faculty mentoring, or institutional development.
- Strong understanding of emerging engineering technologies and workforce requirements.
- Ability to build corporate relationships and facilitate industry–academia partnerships.
- Exposure to applied research, consultancy, accreditation, or quality assurance will be an advantage.

Preferred Industry Exposure Civil Engineering: Infrastructure, construction, structural engineering, project management, transportation, sustainable construction, smart cities, BIM, environmental engineering, or engineering consultancy.

Mechanical Engineering: Manufacturing, automotive engineering, product development, automation, robotics, Industry 4.0, mechatronics, energy, R&D;, production, or engineering consultancy.
