Roles & responsibilities

•A leader with experience of managing a pool of experienced lawyers who provide required contract review, negotiation and related queries support, and setting up a process to support OGC teams of Member Firms

•Oversees team’s operations including hiring, staffing, training execution and quality control

•Serve as primary liaison between KPMG U.S. Office of General Counsel (“OGC”) leadership and KPMG Global Services (“KGS”) lawyers.

•Partner with OGC leadership to develop and operationalize individualized and collective strategy for using KGS legal resources, including identifying work best suited for transition, scaling successful capabilities, optimizing the allocation of work, and evolving the relationship.

•Proactively identify and recommend current legal initiatives, services, improvement opportunities, and higher-value uses of KGS lawyers.

•Establish and maintain service expectations, knowledge-sharing practices, and quality controls focused on responsiveness, quality, productivity, and value.

•Build trusted relationships across OGC and KGS; promote a unified-team culture and support adoption of current ways of working.

Mandatory technical & functional skills

•Contract specialist lawyer with a demonstrated track record of reviewing and negotiating various kinds of contracts

•Experience handling legal or contracting queries and drafting or amending legal documents​

•People management responsibilities





•Indian or UK qualified attorney/lawyer with minimum of 15 to 20 years of relevant post qualification experience​

•Strategic and operational judgment, including the ability to assess legal workflows, identify appropriate work for global delivery, and maintain quality, efficiency, and value.

•Relationship-building skills; high emotional intelligence and cultural fluency to work effectively across leadership levels, legal teams, functions, and time zones.

•Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, work independently, maintain the highest ethical standards, and deliver consistently high-quality results in a fast-moving environment.

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

Work experience

•The candidate must have minimum 15-20 years of post qualification relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm or expertise in commercial and technology agreements in a large MNC​
