Position: Supervisor – Core Shop

Job Responsibilities:

- Supervise day-to-day Core Shop operations and ensure smooth production as per the production plan.
- Plan and allocate manpower, machines, tools and materials for core-making activities.
- Supervise core preparation, core shooting, core assembly, core coating, baking/curing and finishing operations.
- Ensure cores are manufactured as per drawing, specifications, dimensional requirements and quality standards.
- Monitor core-box preparation, sand mixing, binder/resin ratio and other process parameters.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Pattern Shop and Foundry departments to resolve production issues.
- Inspect cores for defects such as cracks, blow holes, broken edges, dimensional variation, gas defects and improper coating.
- Ensure proper identification, storage and handling of finished cores to prevent damage and mix-up.
- Monitor production targets, rejection, rework, material consumption and productivity.
- Maintain daily production records, rejection reports, manpower records and process-control records.
- Ensure availability and proper use of core sand, resin, catalyst, additives, coatings and consumables.
- Implement 5S, housekeeping and continuous-improvement activities in the Core Shop.
- Ensure workers follow PPE, safety procedures,



fire-safety requirements and protected operating practices.
- Train and guide operators and helpers regarding core-making processes and quality requirements.
- Identify process problems and take corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection and improve productivity.
- Coordinate with maintenance for timely repair and preventive maintenance of core-making machines, mixers, ovens/baking equipment and related equipment.
- Ensure production is completed within the required quality, quantity and delivery schedule.
- Prepare shift handover reports and communicate production issues to the concerned department/head.
- Support implementation of ISO, quality, safety and environmental procedures applicable to the Core Shop.
