Job Role: Dimensional Engineer – GD&T; & Tolerance Stack-Up

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies considering functional, dimensional, manufacturing, and cost requirements.

- Perform

1D, 2D, and 3D tolerance stack-up analysis to validate assembly feasibility, clearances, fits, alignment, and interchangeability.

- Conduct statistical tolerance and variation analysis to predict dimensional variation and improve assembly robustness.

- Define and optimize dimensional and geometric tolerances based on design intent, manufacturing capability, and assembly requirements.

- Create, review, and improve engineering drawings using

GD&T; as per ASME Y14.5

.

- Establish appropriate datums, feature control frames, and geometric controls for precision components and assemblies.

- Apply

DFMA principles to improve manufacturability, assembly, inspection feasibility, quality, and cost.

- Analyze and resolve dimensional, fit, clearance, alignment, and assembly issues

.

- Perform root-cause analysis for dimensional non-conformities and implement corrective design/tolerance solutions.





- Collaborate with

Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier, and Product Engineering teams

.

- Support prototype, validation, production, and continuous improvement activities related to dimensional quality.

Required Skills

- B.Tech/M.Tech in

Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Automotive Engineering

, or related discipline.

- 5+ years of experience in

Dimensional Engineering, Mechanical Design, and Precision Component/Assembly Design

.

- Robust expertise in

GD&T; – ASME Y14.5

.

- Hands-on experience in

1D, 2D & 3D Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis

.

- Experience in

Statistical Tolerance / Variation Analysis

.

- Strong understanding of

DFMA and tolerance optimization

.

- Proficiency in

Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor

, or similar CAD tools.

- Good understanding of

Machining, Casting, Forging, Sheet Metal, Welding, and Assembly processes.

- Solid understanding of gaps, clearances, fits, alignment, and interchangeability

.

- Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills.
