Role Overview

StyleSpeak is looking for a Digital Editor to manage day-to-day editorial content on its website and support digital audience growth. This role covers planning, editing, publishing and optimising content across the website and newsletters, working closely with the print/editorial team, event team, social media resource and SEO agency.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience running editorial content for a website — not just writing for print or social - and understands how to turn stories, interviews, trends and event content into strong digital packages.

Key Responsibilities

- Website Editorial Planning & Publishing

Maintain the web editorial calendar in line with magazine, event and commercial priorities

Publish and manage content across categories including hair trends, salon business stories, education/career content, product launches, and interviews/event coverage

Edit and proofread content for clarity, structure, tone and brand consistency

Maintain website hygiene - categories, tags, image quality, formatting, internal linking

- Content Development & Packaging





Identify story opportunities for the digital audience

Source and develop content from contributors, internal teams and event material

Write and edit digital-first stories, headlines, intros and article packaging

- SEO Content Coordination

Work with the SEO agency on search-led content and optimisation

Execute on-page SEO recommendations (headlines, metadata, keyword placement, internal linking, content refreshes)

- Newsletter Planning & Execution

Plan and write newsletters to drive traffic and event awareness

Track open rates, clicks and top-performing stories

- Event Content Support

Create and publish digital content around HBS and other StyleSpeak initiatives (previews, speaker profiles, post-event coverage)
- Reporting

Track website traffic, top stories and newsletter performance

Prepare a monthly digital editorial report with recommendations

Requirements

3–4 years of experience in digital editorial, online publishing, or content roles

Must have prior hands-on experience managing/editing content for a website (not print or social media alone)

Working knowledge of WordPress or a similar CMS

Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

Comfort working with SEO recommendations and search-led publishing

Ability to plan and execute newsletters

Prior experience in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, B2B media or trade publishing preferred

Preferred Attributes

Robust editorial judgement - knows what's useful, timely and clickable without compromising quality

Comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial media team requiring cross-functional coordination
