DevOps Platform Engineer

Key Responsibilities

- Own and operate the full infrastructure lifecycle for a production-grade, cloud-native platform operating under strict security and compliance requirements.
- Design and provision cloud infrastructure, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, support production operations and continuously improve reliability, scalability and security.
- Operate and evolve managed Kubernetes clusters (node pools, autoscaling, upgrades, maintenance windows, Pod Disruption Budgets).
- Maintain workplace-specific Kubernetes manifests using Kustomize.
- Implement and enforce cloud-native workload identity (no credential-based auth in manifests).
- Responsible for cloud networking: virtual networks, subnets, security groups, private endpoints, DNS, and peering.
- Design, own, and evolve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for backend, authentication, and frontend services.
- Maintain branch and environment promotion strategies with enforced gates.
- Manage container image publishing and promotion through enterprise registries.
- Enforce container scanning and quality gates — no bypasses in protected branches.
- Own release workflows, manual promotion mechanisms, and artifact versioning.
- Maintain local development simulation environments that accurately mirror production configuration.

Required Qualifications

- Core Platform Engineering: 5+ years in DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure engineering roles.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong cloud expertise (Azure primary
- AWS secondary).




- Advanced containerization and registry management experience.
- Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
- Git-based operational discipline — production systems are defined in code.
- CI/CD &
- Automation: GitHub Actions workflow design and maintenance.
- Artifact and container scanning, promotion, and release management.
- Static analysis and quality gate enforcement.
- Secure automation practices for regulated environments.
- Databases &
- Data: PostgreSQL production operations (pooling, migrations, backups).
- Redis configuration and tuning.
- Experience supporting data orchestration and storage platforms.
- Observability: Metrics, logging, and tracing system ownership.
- OpenTelemetry implementation experience.
- On-call production debugging in hardened environments.
- SLO/SLA and error budget management.
- Security &
- Networking: WAF/CDN configuration and DDoS mitigation.
- API gateway policy authoring.
- Kubernetes NetworkPolicy authoring and enforcement.
- Centralized secrets and key management.
- Scripting &
- Programming: Python for automation and tooling.
- Bash/zsh for operational scripting.
- YAML/JSON for Kubernetes and CI/CD.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience operating platforms handling regulated or sensitive data.
- Familiarity with identity, authentication, and authorization systems.
- GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux).
- Helm chart authoring.
- Analytics or data platform integration experience.
- Advanced Kubernetes debugging and RBAC inspection skills.
