V7 Defence Industries Private Limited is looking for experienced Design Engineers (Mechanical) to join our Design & Engineering team.

The role involves the design and development of mechanical and process equipment for industrial applications. The candidate will be responsible for converting process and functional requirements into safe, reliable, manufacturable, and technically sound engineering solutions, from concept development and calculations through detailed design, fabrication, and testing support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop pressure vessels, reactors, tanks, agitators, mixers, heat-transfer equipment, and related mechanical components.
- Perform mechanical design calculations for equipment and components.
- Prepare 3D models, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Develop designs considering safety, manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Apply relevant engineering codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review drawings, calculations, BOMs, and design documents for accuracy.
- Coordinate with Process, Fabrication, Procurement, Quality, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
- Support fabrication, assembly, prototype development, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Visit and coordinate with the shop floor as required during fabrication and assembly.
- Investigate design or operational issues and develop suitable engineering solutions.
- Incorporate design modifications and maintain proper revision control.
- Maintain design calculations, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other engineering documentation.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.




- 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical/process equipment design.
- Experience in designing equipment such as:
- Pressure Vessels
- Reactors
- Storage/Process Tanks
- Agitators & Mixers
- Heat-Transfer Equipment
- Related Process Equipment

Technical Skills
- Robust knowledge of mechanical design calculations.
- Valuable understanding of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Solid Edge / SolidWorks / AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Ability to prepare and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, IS, EN/ISO.
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment design and fabrication practices.
- Knowledge of mechatronics, automation, instrumentation, and machine controls will be an added advantage.

Work Environment The role involves both design-office and shop-floor activities. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering, fabrication, procurement, quality, electrical, and instrumentation teams throughout the equipment development process. Salary: As per experience and suitability.
