Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry. The candidate should have robust expertise in designing sheet metal components and assemblies for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, or automotive systems using CAD tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies for automotive applications.
- Create and modify 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Perform sheet metal design activities including:
- Brackets
- Mounting structures
- Chassis sheet metal parts
- BIW components
- Enclosures and covers
- Ensure designs comply with DFM, DFA, GD&T;, and automotive standards.
- Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, and supplier teams for design validation.
- Support prototype development and product release activities.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and engineering change management.
- Work on BOM creation and release processes.
