About the RoleMechano Robust is looking for a Mid-Level SolidWorks Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You'll take products from concept through detailed design, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to bring mechanical designs to life. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real design problems and seeing their work go from CAD model to physical product.

What You'll Do

- Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks for new and existing products
- Apply GD&T; principles to ensure parts are manufacturable and meet tolerance requirements
- Perform design calculations and basic FEA/simulation to validate part and assembly performance
- Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.) to design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
- Manage and maintain the PDM/PLM system, including revision control and BOM accuracy
- Support prototyping, testing, and design validation activities




- Troubleshoot design and production issues, driving corrective actions and design improvements
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and change orders (ECOs/ECNs)
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers throughout the product development lifecycle

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience designing mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of GD&T;
- Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, and/or weldment design
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Vault, or similar)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes: CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice to Have
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced product development setting
