We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to support mechanical design engineering projects and work closely with design, product engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

The role involves designing and developing sheet metal components, solid models, and casting parts, preparing detailed engineering drawings, and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to deliver cost-effective and production-ready designs.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and mechanical product design, along with knowledge of GD&T;, BOMs, ECNs, manufacturing processes, and HVAC/refrigeration systems.

Roles &

Responsibilities

- Independently support mechanical design engineering projects from concept through design release.
- Collaborate with design and product engineering teams for successful project execution.
- Design and develop mechanical components, particularly:
- Sheet metal parts
- Solid models
- Casting components

- Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, sketches, 3D models, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize designs for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
- Create, maintain, and update Bill of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
- Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and support drawing/document release activities.
- Provide design support for existing production parts and products.
- Interpret engineering specifications, drawings, sketches, procedures, and verbal/written instructions.




- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering and drafting standards.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Apply engineering best practices to achieve project objectives related to quality, delivery, and cost.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and engineering quality.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience with Autodesk Vault for engineering data/document management.
- Knowledge of Fourth Shift is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in designing sheet metal and casting components.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA methodologies.
- Good understanding of GD&T; in accordance with ASME Y14.5M.
- Experience in BOM creation, maintenance, and management.
- Experience with ECN/ECO workflows and engineering drawing release.
- Understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems/processes.
- Knowledge of refrigeration subsystems and associated components is preferred.
- Ability to develop accurate engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred / Desired Skills
- Experience working on HVAC, refrigeration, or climate-control products.
- Exposure to Life Science Solutions or related refrigeration applications.
