Cooper designs, develops, and manufactures a wide range of products including cylinder head gaskets, rubber gaskets, multi-layer steel gaskets, shims, washers, felt items, heat shields, and sheet metal components. From initial drawings to finished products, every solution is developed to meet stringent technical specifications and quality requirements for diverse industrial applications.

Role Description The Design Engineer will work full time on-site at the Panchkula facility, contributing to the design and development of gasket and sealing products. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating CAD models and technical drawings, performing design calculations, and collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with specifications.

The role involves supporting product development from concept through prototyping and final release, optimizing designs for performance, cost, and reliability.

Engineer will also participate in design reviews, document design changes, and support continuous improvement initiatives in line with customer requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to product and component design.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D and 3D modeling, drafting, and design documentation.
- Experience or knowledge in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and design optimization.
- Exposure to Electrical Engineering concepts is beneficial for designs involving electro-mechanical components or assemblies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tolerances, materials (especially metals, composites, and elastomers), and quality standards.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings, and to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
