:

To lead and manage the Commercial, Purchase, Materials, Stores and Supply Chain functions, ensuring timely availability of materials, optimum inventory, effective vendor management, cost control and smooth support to production and project requirements.

Experience

15+ years of relevant experience in engineering/manufacturing industries, preferably in machine manufacturing, SPM, fabrication, foundry equipment or industrial machinery.

Qualification

- BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering preferred.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain, Materials or Operations will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/SAP and MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities1. Commercial Management
- Lead the overall commercial and materials function .
- Develop and implement commercial policies, procedures and controls.
- Review purchase terms, payment terms, credit periods and commercial conditions.
- Monitor purchase commitments, outstanding orders and supplier payments.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Production, Projects and Management on commercial matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and commercial compliance.

1. Purchase & Procurement

- Plan and control procurement of raw materials, bought-out components, machining items, fabrication materials, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and engineering components .
- Review material requirements based on production and project schedules.
- Drive competitive quotations, negotiations and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain strategic suppliers and alternate vendors.
- Approve/review purchase orders as per company authorization levels.
- Ensure timely procurement without affecting production schedules.

1. Materials Management

- Develop effective Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
- Monitor material availability against production and project requirements.
- Control excess,



slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Establish appropriate stock levels and reorder points.
- Coordinate with Production, Design, Stores, Quality and Projects for material planning.
- Improve material flow from procurement to production.

1. Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers.
- Conduct vendor performance reviews based on quality, cost, delivery and service .
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements where appropriate.
- Develop alternate sources for critical materials and components.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and resolve supply issues.

1. Stores & Inventory Control

- Monitor stores operations and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper GRN, material issue, stock transfer and inventory documentation .
- Implement FIFO/appropriate inventory practices wherever applicable.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
- Reduce inventory carrying costs and material shortages.
- Monitor scrap, rejection and material utilization.

1. Cost Reduction & Commercial Control

- Drive procurement cost reduction initiatives.
- Analyse historical purchase prices and market trends.
- Negotiate bulk purchase and annual rate contracts.
- Identify opportunities for standardization and alternate materials.
- Monitor purchase price variance and procurement savings.
- Support management with commercial analysis and MIS reports.

1. Production & Project Coordination

- Ensure critical materials are available as per production and project schedules .
- Conduct regular material review meetings.
- Identify potential material shortages and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with Design for BOM and specification-related procurement requirements.
- Support urgent project requirements without compromising commercial controls.
