Operations & Delivery Lead

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Operations & Delivery Lead to take ownership of day-to-day operations and delivery activities for our growing startup.

The role requires someone who can manage the complete operational cycle, coordinate with providers and customers, onboard and manage delivery partners, and personally handle deliveries when required.

As we are in the early stage of building our delivery team, the candidate should be comfortable working on the ground and personally delivering orders until sufficient delivery partners are onboarded.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

- Manage and oversee day-to-day startup operations
- Coordinate between customers, providers/home chefs, and delivery partners
- Monitor orders from placement to successful delivery
- Ensure timely order pickup and delivery
- Establish and maintain operational processes and SOPs
- Track orders, deliveries, cancellations, delays, and operational issues
- Resolve customer, provider, and delivery-related issues promptly
- Maintain daily operational reports and records
- Identify operational gaps and implement improvements
- Ensure a smooth and reliable customer experience

Delivery Management
- Manage the complete delivery operation
- Plan delivery routes and assign orders to delivery partners
- Coordinate order pickup from providers
- Monitor delivery status and ensure timely delivery
- Track delivery partner performance and productivity




- Manage delivery schedules and delivery areas
- Handle urgent delivery issues and customer escalations
- Monitor delivery costs and improve delivery efficiency

Delivery Partner Onboarding
- Identify and recruit delivery boys/riders
- Conduct onboarding and explain delivery processes
- Train delivery partners on the app and operating procedures
- Verify required documents and onboarding information
- Allocate delivery areas and schedules
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, performance, and service quality
- Build and manage a reliable delivery team as order volumes increase

Hands-On Delivery Responsibility This is a field-oriented role and not a desk-only management position.

During the initial stage, the candidate will be expected to personally pick up and deliver customer orders while the delivery team is being built.

The candidate may need to step in and deliver orders when:

- Delivery partners are not yet available
- A rider is absent
- There is a sudden increase in orders
- A delivery issue requires immediate intervention
- New delivery areas are being launched

As the delivery team grows, the role will gradually shift toward managing the delivery team, improving processes, and scaling operations.



Required Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, delivery, field operations, or a startup environment
- Strong coordination and people-management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Good knowledge of Ghatlodia and nearby Ahmedabad areas
- Comfortable using Google Maps, WhatsApp, mobile applications, and basic computer tools
- Basic knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets
- Valuable communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple operational activities simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Two-wheeler and valid driving licence are required

Compensation

Salary: Based on experience and candidate profile.

Performance-based growth and increased responsibility as the business scales.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 per month
