Company Description Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. is a DPIIT-recognized green biotechnology startup developing an enzymatic biorefinery platform to convert non-wood agricultural waste into industrial enzymes and advanced biomaterials. The company focuses on revenue-first enzyme production for textiles, wastewater treatment, and related industrial applications, followed by high-margin cellulose nanofibers (CNF) for sustainable materials.

Its technology is optimized for Indian biomass to enable cost-effective, scalable, and circular manufacturing. By transforming farm residues into value-added products, Cellumantra helps reduce crop burning and dependence on imported raw materials. The team is driven by a mission to build climate-resilient, resource-efficient solutions for the bioeconomy.

Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Government Grants and Fundraising Consultant supporting a deeptech startup in the green biotechnology sector. The consultant will identify and track relevant government schemes, grants, and public-sector innovation programs at central and state levels, and assess their suitability for Cellumantra’s technology and business model. Daily responsibilities include mapping funding opportunities, preparing concept notes, grant applications, and supporting documentation, and coordinating with internal technical and business teams to gather data and evidence.

The role involves building and maintaining relationships with government agencies, incubators, and public-sector stakeholders, as well as advising leadership on compliance, timelines, and reporting requirements.



Performance will be assessed based on measurable outcomes such as successful grant approvals, partnerships, and secured non-dilutive funding.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Government Relations and experience navigating public funding programs, schemes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of Local Government and Public Sector processes, including interactions with state departments, PSUs, incubators, and technology missions.
- Excellent Communication skills for drafting clear proposals, applications, and presentations, and for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Robust Analytical Skills for evaluating grant fit, interpreting policy documents, and aligning technical and business information with funding criteria.
- Prior experience in fundraising for startups, especially deeptech or climate-tech, through grants, subsidies, or CSR-linked innovation programs.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records of applications and outcomes.
- Familiarity with Indian startup and innovation ecosystems (DPIIT, BIRAC, DBT, DST, MSME, state innovation councils) is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, public policy, science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
