The Dean – School of Engineering will be the senior-most academic and strategic leader of the School of Engineering, responsible for providing visionary leadership, academic excellence, research growth, industry engagement, faculty development, student success, and overall institutional advancement.

The preferred candidate will have a strong academic and research background in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline, along with substantial leadership experience in a reputed university/institution.

The Dean will be responsible for building the School into a high-performing, research-intensive, industry-connected and nationally/internationally recognized centre of engineering education

Strategic &

• Academic Leadership

- Provide overall academic, administrative and strategic leadership to the School of Engineering.
- Develop and implement the School's 5-year strategic vision and annual operational plans aligned with University goals.
- Lead the development of new academic programmes, specializations, minors, multidisciplinary programmes and emerging technology domains.
- Strengthen academic standards, curriculum quality, teaching-learning practices and outcome-based education.
- Ensure effective implementation of academic policies, regulations, academic calendars and institutional directives.
- Drive continuous improvement in academic performance, student outcomes and graduate employability.

Leadership of Engineering Departments
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to all Engineering departments, including but not limited to:
- Computer Science & • Engineering

- Electronics & • Communication Engineering

- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Emerging Engineering disciplines
- Work closely with Heads of Departments to establish measurable academic and research goals.
- Review departmental performance through defined KPIs/KRAs and institutional dashboards.
- Ensure effective faculty deployment, workload planning and academic resource utilization.

Research, Innovation & • Consultancy
- Establish the School as a research-driven engineering ecosystem.
- Develop a strong research culture with measurable targets for publications, patents, funded projects and technology development.
- Encourage high-quality publications in SCI/WoS/Scopus-indexed journals and reputed conferences.
- Promote interdisciplinary research involving Engineering, AI, Data Science, Management, Sciences and other schools.
- Lead efforts to secure Government, Industry and International research grants.
- Promote consultancy, sponsored research, technology transfer,



incubation and commercialization.
- Establish and strengthen Centres of Excellence, research laboratories and innovation centres.
- Encourage faculty and students to file patents, develop prototypes and pursue entrepreneurial initiatives.

Faculty Development
- Develop faculty-strength plans based on programme growth and academic requirements.
- Identify and attract distinguished researchers, industry professionals, Professors of Practice and visiting faculty.
- Mentor faculty for career progression, research productivity and academic leadership.
- Promote faculty development programmes, certifications, industry exposure and international collaborations.
- Build a performance-driven and collaborative academic culture.

Curriculum & • Emerging Technologies
- Continuously review and modernize engineering curricula in line with industry and technological developments.
- Promote experiential, project-based and problem-based learning.
- Strengthen industry-relevant certifications and skill-based learning.

Accreditation, Rankings & • Quality Assurance
- Provide leadership for NAAC, NBA, NIRF, QS, THE and other relevant accreditation/ranking frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, NBA and other applicable statutory/regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in programme outcomes, graduate attributes and quality indicators.
- Establish robust systems for academic audits, programme reviews and quality enhancement.

Industry & • Corporate Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with leading technology companies, engineering organizations, startups and multinational corporations.
- Establish industry advisory boards for engineering programmes.
- Promote internships, live projects, industry-sponsored laboratories and joint certification programmes.
- Facilitate industry participation in curriculum design and delivery.
- Strengthen placement outcomes and employability through industry-aligned academic initiatives.

Internationalization & • Global Partnerships
- Develop academic and research collaborations with leading international universities.
- Promote student/faculty exchange programmes, joint research, international conferences and collaborative programmes.
- Establish international research networks and global academic partnerships.




- Improve the School's international visibility and reputation.

Student Development & • Success
- Ensure a high-quality student learning experience across all engineering programmes.
- Strengthen mentoring, academic advising and student support systems.
- Promote innovation, hackathons, technical competitions, entrepreneurship and student research.
- Improve student retention, progression, placement and higher-education outcomes.
- Encourage participation in national and international competitions and qualified societies.

Infrastructure & • Resource Planning
- Prepare long-term requirements for classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, computing infrastructure and specialized engineering facilities.
- Lead development of modern laboratories and Centres of Excellence.
- Ensure optimal utilization of infrastructure and academic resources.
- Prepare and manage the School's academic and research budget in coordination with University leadership.

Institutional Leadership & • Governance
- Represent the School of Engineering in University-level academic and administrative forums.
- Participate in the Academic Council, Board of Studies and other statutory/strategic committees as required.
- Ensure effective coordination among Deans, HODs, faculty and central administrative functions.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to senior University leadership.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, innovation and high performance.

Educational Qualification
- Ph.D. in Computer Science & • Engineering / Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science / Electronics &

• Communication / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline

from a reputed institution.
- Preference will be given to candidates with strong academic credentials from IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs or reputed international universities.

Experience
- 18–20+ years of overall academic/research experience, preferably in a reputed university/institution.
- Significant experience in senior academic leadership such as:
- Dean
- Associate Dean
- Director/Head of Engineering
- HOD with substantial institutional responsibilities
- Proven experience in managing multiple departments and large faculty/student cohorts.

Preferred BackgroundCSE/Computer Science background will be strongly preferred, particularly candidates with expertise in one or more of:
