About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team at Persistent Systems. In this role, you will work closely with innovation, data, and IT teams to develop and deploy robust, scalable, and secure artificial intelligence capabilities that seamlessly integrate with enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing machine learning models, particularly in fraud detection and prevention.

You will lead multiple use cases from initial discovery to production, ensuring that solutions are optimized for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in data science, machine learning, statistics, or related fields, with 8-12 years of relevant industry experience. Proven expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models, particularly in fraud detection, is essential.



Candidates should have hands-on experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, model validation, and performance optimization.

Familiarity with low-latency scoring architectures, model explainability, and governance frameworks is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A proactive mindset, leadership qualities, and a passion for innovation are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist at Persistent Systems, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple use cases, from initial discovery through to deployment and monitoring in production environments.
- Defining and implementing fraud detection strategies using a combination of rules, machine learning algorithms, and graph techniques.
- Identifying predictive features and creating comprehensive feature catalogs to enhance model performance.
- Building, validating, and refining pilot machine learning models to ensure robustness and accuracy.
- Optimizing models to improve precision, recall, and overall fraud catch rates, balancing false positives and negatives.
- Collaborating on the design of low-latency scoring architectures that support real-time fraud detection.
- Guiding model explainability and governance to ensure transparency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supporting shadow runs against existing systems to validate new models without disrupting current operations.
- Defining monitoring metrics and thresholds for model drift, ensuring ongoing performance and relevance.
- Leading the onboarding and integration of new fraud scenarios,



continuously enhancing detection capabilities.
