About The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Migration Intern to support a company-wide migration of employee email accounts and associated data from one Google Workspace environment to another.
The intern will work closely with the People and IT teams to ensure employee data is migrated accurately, systematically and with minimal disruption to business operations.
This is a project-based role and will involve working with employee data, Google Workspace, spreadsheets and migration trackers.
What You Will Do
Email & Data Migration
- Support migration of employee email accounts from the existing Google Workspace/domain to the new Google Workspace/domain.
- Assist with migration of relevant mailbox data, emails, contacts, calendars and other approved Google Workspace data.
- Follow defined migration processes and checklists for each employee/account.
- Ensure data is transferred accurately and completely as per the migration plan.
- Support account setup and configuration activities as required.
Data Validation & Quality Checks
- Maintain a detailed migration tracker covering all employee accounts.
- Verify migrated emails and other data against the source account.
- Identify missing, incomplete or incorrectly migrated data and coordinate resolution.
- Conduct post-migration checks to ensure employees can access their new accounts and required data.
- Maintain clear records of completed, pending and exception cases.
Coordination
- Coordinate with employees to schedule migration activities and resolve basic access-related queries.
- Work closely with the IT/Google Workspace administrator during the migration.
- Escalate technical issues or exceptions that require administrator intervention.
- Support employee communication around migration timelines, access and required actions.
Documentation
- Maintain migration SOPs,
checklists and trackers.
- Document recurring issues and their resolutions.
- Prepare daily/weekly migration status reports.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality while handling employee and business data.
What We Are Looking For
- Graduate/student pursuing a degree in Computer Applications, IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
- Comfortable working with Google Workspace, particularly Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working with large volumes of data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow structured processes and checklists.
- Robust sense of confidentiality and responsibility when handling employee data.
Good to Have
- Basic understanding of Google Workspace administration.
- Exposure to email or data migration projects.
- Familiarity with CSV files, data validation and spreadsheet-based reconciliation.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with Google Admin Console would be an advantage.
