About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in Azure cloud services and big data technologies to join our dynamic team at UST. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that support our clients' strategic objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data architectures, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes, along with a proactive approach to optimizing data workflows.

As a data engineer at UST, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality data solutions that enable insightful decision-making and business growth.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.



Relevant certifications in Azure or data engineering are preferred. Candidates should have proven experience working with cloud data platforms, especially Azure, and possess strong programming skills in PySpark, SQL, and other relevant technologies.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and performance tuning is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with Agile methodologies and version control tools like Git is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer at UST, your key responsibilities will include:

- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and other cloud tools.
- Implementing ETL/ELT processes to consolidate data from various sources into data lakes and data warehouses.
- Optimizing Spark and PySpark jobs for performance and efficiency.
- Managing and securing data in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure SQL Database.
- Developing and maintaining data models that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions accordingly.




- Implementing data quality checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Participating in code reviews, version control, and deployment activities using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies to continuously improve processes.
