Overview

We are a Nordic data and AI consultancy working with a commercial bank on their on-premise, Oracle-based core banking data environment. We need a Data Architect with real banking experience, ideally on Oracle FLEXCUBE — who deeply understands how a bank's core data is structured, and can guide changes to that structure as new business and reporting requirements come in.

Applications without demonstrable banking or financial-services domain experience will not be considered.

Your job is to understand the existing schema across our core banking systems and evolve it as requirements change — not to build a new platform from scratch. If you haven't personally worked with a core banking system's data before, this isn't the right fit.

What You Will Do

- Understand and document the existing on-premise Oracle / FLEXCUBE data schema across the bank's core systems.
- Propose and guide changes to that schema as new requirements come in from credit, treasury, finance, audit, and compliance teams — each with its own definitions and reporting obligations that need to be reconciled.
- Act as the technical counterpart to the bank's own architecture and compliance functions,



explaining how the schema is structured and why.
- Support the wider technical team in understanding how core banking data maps to their work, and coach internal staff as part of a longer-term knowledge transfer.

Required
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience with Oracle Banking / FLEXCUBE data — you should already know how it structures accounts, transactions, and product data, since you won't have time to learn this from scratch.
- Direct experience designing or maintaining data models for a bank, insurer, payments processor, or similarly regulated financial institution.
- Ability to speak fluently about how a bank's core systems, products, and reporting obligations actually work. Experience with audit and regulatory reporting requirements and how they shape a data schema.
- Robust stakeholder-facing communication in English. Willingness and ability to travel/be onsite with the client.

Nice to Have
- Broader data platform experience (Kafka, Spark, Airflow), including on-premise or self-managed deployments.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS).
- MongoDB or unstructured-data experience.
