About The Role HCLSoftware is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join its dynamic Security Engineering team. This role is pivotal in building, deploying, and maintaining robust security controls to safeguard our enterprise and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with a focus on configuration, coding, and integration rather than documentation. You will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of security platforms, including design, implementation, tuning, automation, and ongoing health monitoring. Collaboration with teams such as SOC, Vulnerability Management, IT, and cloud engineering is essential to ensure the security environment is well-instrumented, resilient, and responsive to emerging threats.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence security posture at a strategic level while working on innovative projects that directly impact organizational security.

Qualifications The successful candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or a related field with practical, hands-on involvement. Demonstrated ownership of at least two enterprise security platforms from deployment to ongoing operations is essential.

Strong expertise in cloud security across major providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including native security services and policy enforcement, is required. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, coupled with the ability to work with vendor APIs, is vital. A solid understanding of operating system internals, networking fundamentals, and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary.





Experience with infrastructure as code, version control, and troubleshooting complex environments will set candidates apart.

Preferred qualifications include experience with SIEM migrations, container security, detection engineering, and automation platforms. Security certifications such as CISSP, GCP, AWS, or Azure security certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities As a Security Engineer at HCLSoftware, your primary responsibilities will include deploying, configuring, and maintaining core security platforms such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, secure service edge, cloud security posture management, and identity controls. You will design control rollouts that ensure comprehensive coverage, handle exceptions, optimize performance, and facilitate seamless rollbacks when necessary.

Integrating security tools with SIEM and SOAR systems to enable actionable telemetry and response capabilities is a key focus. You will monitor control health, including agent coverage, policy compliance, enforcement efficacy, and silent failures, ensuring continuous security posture improvement.

In the realm of cloud and infrastructure security, you will implement guardrails across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including policy enforcement, posture monitoring, and remediation workflows. Building and maintaining hardened baselines for operating systems, containers, and cloud services aligned with industry benchmarks such as CIS will be critical. You will collaborate with platform teams to engineer secrets management, key management, and certificate lifecycle controls, ensuring secure operations.

Supporting secure network design, including segmentation, egress controls, and remote access, will also be part of your responsibilities.

Automation plays a vital role in your day-to-day tasks. You will automate repetitive security operations using scripting, APIs, and infrastructure as code, ensuring configurations are version-controlled,



peer-reviewed, tested, and deployable in a repeatable manner. Building integrations between security, IT, and engineering systems to facilitate smooth data flow and operational efficiency is essential.

Documentation and runbooks should be clear and comprehensive to enable others to operate and maintain the security environment effectively.

Operational support involves incident response, including rapid control changes, containment, and forensic data collection. Partnering with Vulnerability Management, you will engineer scalable remediation strategies rather than handling issues on a ticket-by-ticket basis. Participating in an on-call rotation for high-severity incidents and contributing to audit and customer assurance activities are also integral parts of the role.

For AI security engineering, you will develop security guardrails for internal AI/LLM systems, focusing on protections against prompt injection, model poisoning, and data exfiltration. Maintaining and securing AI infrastructure, automating workflows that utilize AI/ML for security operations, and monitoring AI tool usage to ensure compliance with governance policies are critical. Staying updated on emerging AI threats and adapting security controls accordingly will be part of your ongoing responsibilities.
