Job Purpose To ensure the proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, storage, and timely supply of sterile instruments and materials required for OT and other clinical areas, while maintaining strict infection control and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive used surgical instruments and materials from the OT and clinical areas and handle them safely.

- Perform proper cleaning, decontamination, washing, drying, inspection, and packing of instruments.

- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and other sterilizers as per hospital protocols.

- Ensure correct sterilization procedures and maintain required temperature, pressure, and cycle parameters.

- Conduct and document chemical and biological indicator tests as required.

- Properly pack, label, date, and store sterilized instruments and materials.

- Maintain proper segregation of sterile and non-sterile items.

- Supply sterile instruments and packs to the OT and other departments as requested.

- Check the sterility and expiry/status of stored sterile items regularly.

- Maintain CSSD registers, sterilization records, issue records,



and other required documentation.

- Report any sterilization failure, damaged instruments, equipment malfunction, or infection-control concern immediately to the concerned authority.

- Follow standard precautions, PPE requirements, infection-control policies, and biomedical waste management procedures.

- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the CSSD area and sterilization equipment.

- Handle surgical instruments carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper functioning.

- Coordinate with OT, nursing, and other departments for timely availability of sterile supplies.

- Assist in maintaining adequate stock of sterilization consumables, packing materials, and other CSSD supplies.

- Participate in internal audits, quality improvement activities, and hospital infection-control programs.

- Perform any other duties related to CSSD operations assigned by the management.

Pay: ₹10,225.83 - ₹25,000.06 per month
