About the Role

SAR Transport is looking for a qualified and experienced CPA / Finance & Accounting professional to join our US & Canada Back Office team in Mumbai.

The role will support the accounting and financial operations of our North American business, working closely with teams and stakeholders based in the USA and Canada. The candidate will be responsible for accounting, reconciliations, billing, payables, receivables, month-end activities, reporting and shipment-level financial analysis.

Candidates with experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, transportation or other international businesses will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

US & Canada Accounting

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for US and Canadian entities.
- Handle and review Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and billing activities.
- Review customer invoices, vendor bills, carrier invoices and freight-related transactions.
- Perform customer, vendor, bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial transactions.

Freight Forwarding Finance
- Review shipment-level revenue and costs.
- Validate freight, carrier,



agent and vendor invoices against operational records.
- Ensure shipment-related costs and revenues are appropriately captured.
- Support shipment profitability and margin analysis.
- Review accruals and provisions for shipments where vendor invoices are pending.
- Coordinate with Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve billing and cost-related issues.

Month-End & Financial Reporting
- Support monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals and provisions.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist with P&L;, Balance Sheet and management reporting.
- Perform variance analysis and highlight unusual movements.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.

Intercompany & Cross-Border Accounting
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Review cross-border transactions between India, USA and Canada.
- Handle USD/CAD-related accounting and foreign currency reconciliations.
- Coordinate with North American finance teams and corporate finance.

Stakeholder Management
- Work directly with US and Canada-based Finance, Operations and Management teams.
- Respond to accounting and financial queries from North American stakeholders.




- Coordinate with overseas agents, vendors and customers wherever required.
- Ensure timely resolution of finance-related operational issues.

Candidate Profile
- CA / CPA / CMA or equivalent skilled accounting qualification.
- 3–7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, transportation or supply chain preferred.
- Exposure to US/Canada accounting will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP / Canadian accounting practices preferred.
- Strong MS Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and reconciliations.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- CargoWise / Logisys experience will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Comfortable working independently during US EST hours.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with international stakeholders.

Work Schedule Monday to Friday – US EST Night Shift

Hybrid Model:

- Tuesday–Thursday: Work from Office – Ghatkopar West, Mumbai
- Monday & Friday: Work from Home
