Job Purpose The Costing Executive will be responsible for preparing accurate product cost sheets for precision machined components, assemblies and outsourced parts. The role involves material costing, machining and process costing, vendor costing, RFQ support, MIS reporting and identification of cost-reduction opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost sheets covering material, machining, welding, assembly and outsourced components.

Verify BOMs, process routings, machine-hour rates, labour costs and overhead allocations.

Analyze previous orders and similar components to validate estimated costing.

Monitor standard vs. actual cost and identify cost variances and deviations.

Support RFQ analysis and provide costing inputs for new projects and customer requirements.

Coordinate with Purchase to verify material prices, price fluctuations and alternative materials.

Evaluate vendor quotations and integrate supplier component costs into overall product costing.

Maintain updated databases for material rates, labour rates, machine-hour rates and overheads.

Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly cost MIS and variance reports.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction in production, procurement and assembly processes.

Coordinate with Production, PPC and Design teams for Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives.

Track implemented cost-reduction measures and monitor achievement of expected benefits.

Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, QA/IMS, Design and Sales/Marketing teams for costing activities.

Assist Sales/Marketing in quotation preparation and technical costing discussions.

Support management in CAPEX costing,



machine feasibility studies and project evaluation.

Evaluate production processes such as CNC/VMC machining, welding, laser cutting and bending for accurate cost calculation.

Support PPAP, APQP and NPD activities by providing relevant costing inputs.

Ensure costing records, reports and databases are maintained accurately and remain audit-ready.

Support internal, customer and IMS/ISO audits by providing required costing documentation.

Guide junior costing staff/trainees and support knowledge-sharing and process improvement activities.

Required Skills

Robust knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes

CNC / VMC cycle-time and cost calculation

Knowledge of welding, laser cutting and bending processes

Material and vendor costing

BOM and process-routing understanding

Cost variance analysis

RFQ and quotation costing

VA/VE and cost-reduction techniques

Advanced MS Excel

MS Word and PowerPoint

ERP knowledge; TCS iON or equivalent preferred

Knowledge of PPAP, APQP and NPD costing inputs

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills

Candidate Profile

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering.

Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing industry experience.

Candidates with experience in precision machining, fabrication, automotive components or engineering manufacturing will be suitable.

Should be detail-oriented, analytical and technically sound in costing activities.

Good coordination skills with Production, PPC, Purchase, Design, Quality and Sales teams.
